hey all,
i was on metformin for abt 3 months, then off for almost a month (it was sort of an accident) now i need to go back on, do i have to ease in again (500, then 1000, then 1500 etc) or can i just go to my regular dose.

i had horrible side effects starting the first time i'm not looking forward to starting again.

I would suggest so. I did the same thing because I went through surgery and just didn't feel good so I didn't take them. I'm starting back on them and I wish I would have taken it slow because I have lots of side effects.

Talk to your Dr, but any time you have unregulated insulin for a time, you need to dose back up gradually. Otherwise side effects can make you miserable. Good luck.
