I'm looking for a recipe for chocolate crinkle cookies. I'm asking everyone I know because I can't find the right one. The cookies I'm looking for end up moist and soft and a flatten when they bake. I found a recipe that tastes alright, but they poof up when baked and that's not what I want. Any one have any idea what I'm talking about?

My recipe is not called Chocolate Crinkle cookies, but they are nice and soft and definitely flat - so here goes-
The Chewy Chocolate Cookie (mixes in 5 minutes!)
1-1/4 cups butter or margerine softened
2 cups sugar *
2 eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla
2 cups unsifted all-purpose flour
3/4 cup Hershey's cocoa
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup finely chopped nuts, optional (I don't add these)
Cream butter or margarine and sugar in large mixer bowl. Add eggs and vanilla: blend well. Combine flour, cocoa, baking soda and salt: blend into creamed mixture. Stir in nuts, if desired. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 F. for 8-9 minutes. (Do not overbake. Cookies will be sft. They will puff during baking, flatten upon cooling.) Cool on cookie sheet until set, about 1 minute: remove to wire rack to cool completely. About 4-1/2 dozen.
*I have a note on the back of my recipe card that says to use 1-1/4 cup brown sugar and 3/4 cup sugar. It has been a while since I made these, but I thought I would pass the recipe along.

That recipe was wonderful! I did have to cook them for 10 minutes, because the middles kept falling out. But they taste so good, almost exactly like the recipe I was looking for! Thanks so much!
