Hi
Well, I finally had my appointment today. I have PCOS. My doctor said I have "classic PCOS symptoms" with my irregular periods and facial hair. And I must say, she was GREAT! Even though her schedule was running late, she was willing to talk with me and answer my questions. And not once did I feel like I had to rush or that she was thinking about her next patient or something else. I feel very lucky to have found her.
I did have a scare though. I guess I'm having my period right now (although what's going on isn't like anything I've had before) and while doing the exam, she said that I was dilated a little. I've had two or three pregnancy tests (blood) since April 17th and all were negative, but she wanted to one run again today. Thank God it was negative again, she said if it had been positive then I was probably having a miscarriage.
Does anyone know another reason why I would be dilated a little?
Anyway, she has given me a prescription for Metformin (850mg per day for a week and then increase to 1700mg per day). I kind of feel a little guilty that all of this was so "easy" for me when so many of you had to fight with different doctors for years. I have been on the boards, but this is my first time since diagnosed. Thanks for "listening" and I'm so glad to have all of you for support. Jean
