Default Officially diagnosed

I held off on my official introduction. I first saw the doctor in April and he was pretty sure I had PCOS but wanted to run some labs. I followed up with him on Thursday and was officially diagnosed.

I'm 25 and I live with my boyfriend and our 2 Boston Terriers. My symptoms are irregular periods, but they come most months; acne; a bit of excess hair; high LDL and low HDL, and a lot of abdominal fat. I also have trouble losing weight, despite being a nutritionist.

The doctor said he wanted to start by putting me on birth control (for the first time ever) and we could talk about doing some glucose tolerance studies in a few months. My fasting glucose levels are very good, but based on how I feel after eating sometimes, I suspect I have some issues. I'm just going to go ahead and start on the insulin-resistance diet.

I'm very lucky that my BFF was diagnosed with PCOS years and years ago, so I always have her support, but I look forward to sharing in all the support here.

sometimes I feel very dizzy, tired or confused after eating.

Like if we go out to dinner, sometimes I'm super drowsy while driving home or I get confused about what roads to take.
