Officially Diagnosed!?!?! I knew it was coming, but I had to wait until I seen the endo today. My TSH level was creeping up about 1.2-1.5 every couple of months, but my T3 and T4 were 'within normal range'. So my PCP didn't know what to do with me. I did the thyroid uptake and scan and a thyroid U/S and my PCP said 'all looked ok', but when I seen my endo today he said that I have a stage 1 goiter, hypothyroidism and thinks I am diabetic (insulin resistant). So he started me on a 100mcg of levothyroxine and a diabetic diet.
So today I am happy for a diagnosis, but sad that it is something wrong with my body. I hope that it helps with my hair loss and being tired the most.
Is 100mcg the normal dose to start out on? Also, I have to have my blood sugar, A1c, insulin, t3,t4, tsh and cholesterol tested in 8 weeks then see him again in 10 weeks.
