Default ogden/layton Utah area

Ok, I'm looking for a doctor in my area...my campus doctor told me today (I went in to get stitches removed) that I should get a pap smear or something. I haven't been actually diagnosed w/ anything yet, but I'm pretty sure I have PCOS. I have a lot of the symptoms. So she was asking about my periods (which I have on a regular basis) and commenting on the facial hair and thinning hair. So she said I should get checked out. I have insurance through my parents, but other than that, i'm pretty tight on money.

Hi!

I just started seeing Jed Naisbitt at the Circle of Life women's center in South Ogden. I have been so happy with them! They have been open to my ideas and take time with me... really down to earth people. The office is really nice. They are pretty busy, so sometimes you'll wait a while, but I think they are worth it.

Good Luck!

Chelsea

Yeah!!!! More Utahns!!!

I have been going to two doctors, both of which are a little far away from you, but I think that they are worth the drive! Dr. Peterson is a general family practice doctor but he knows lots about PCOS and is the one I currently go to, because he is closer to where I live. He is super friendly and nice, and I always feel pumped-up with knowledge after I go there. Dr. Macy is just the same!

Dennis R Peterson MD, (801) 292-7254, 415 Medical Dr, Bountiful, UT 84010
Vicki F. Macy MD (she is an OB/GYN), 455 East South Temple Suite 202, Salt Lake City, Utah 84111

I can't find Dr. Macy's phone # off hand, but you should be able to find it in the phone book.

Good luck!

We should start a thread somewhere for the Utahns. I think it would be fun! I don't think many people check in this forum though.

Default Thanks for the responses

Thanks for replying...I haven't been on this site for awhile. Well I went home (Indianapolis) for the summer and yesterday had my first appointment w/ an obgyn. He did the pap smear and this morning I had blood drawn. Tuesday I go in for an ultrasound. However, Thursday morning I fly back to Utah. So I'll keep these dr.'s in mind just in case I need to find someone out there. Hopefully my dr. will figure something out before I go. He HAS heard of PCOS and he said before doing anything that he thinks that is what I have, so I was happy to know that he was familiar with it. I guess I'm on my way to finding out something at least.....

Unhappy I had a bad experience with Jed and his office!!

I used the service of Dr. Jed Naisbitt, for more than 12 years. I saw this office for my last pregnancy, beginning August 2005 and ending February 2006.
I found a new doctor because the Dr. Naisbitt did not perform my gestational diabetes test, regular blood test because I have a blood disorder, or give my monthly b-12 shots, I had to insist that my 20 week ultrasound was done at 26 weeks because he had failed to do that also!! As a result of his neglect I had to receive 4 IV’s of 500mg Iron after the baby was born I received them at Dr. Carl Gray's office. I felt like the doctor was too busy to give me the attention my pregnancy required. So I found a new Doctor and fired Dr. Naisbitt.
Immediately after I fired this Office, I received a bill for services of 7/more visits of prenatal care. The first and only bill was received on March 31, 2006, for the amount of $513.45. The bill was marked current with nothing past due, as my insurance was not even billed until February 2006, at the end of service.
I argued with the billing department that this doctor had not delivered my baby and I thought I only had to pay my $25.00 co-pay for each visit. I was told too bad so sad, so I told them I would deal with paying the bill after the birth of my baby.
My baby was born April 12, 2006. The Circle of Life women’s center sent it to collections on April 28, 2006. I was not even given 30 days to pay the medical bill.
The collection company immediately added $211.11
and sent me a new bill on May 1, 2006, for $724.56. I have been arguing back and forth and the bill is now $1065.17 I have not even been able to get to court. I have offered the medical clinic the $513.45 immediately after receiving the first notice from the collection company the first week of May 2006, if they would recall this bill from collections, and was told TOO BAD FOR YOU!! The billing manager was rude and stated that she thought I would not pay the bill, so she sent it to collections???
I had been a patient for 12 good paying years but because I sought out a new doctor I was discriminated against.
I have contacted the Circle of Life Women’s Center's new billing company that is listed on their web site and was told by the NEW billing company that no account goes to collection for any reason until 60 days after the first bill is sent, and even then it goes to a collection department and not a collection company.
This clinic has directly discriminated against me because I chose another doctor to deliver my baby and they did not make as much money as the had expected. I am the only person they have done this to, and it is not in there common practices to do this but the wanted revenge, I have all of the evidence that they practiced sub standard to prenatal care and that they sent a current bill before 30 days were up to collections, I do not know who to go to take care of this now?? Please help!! My husband and I are good law abiding citizens, my husband is a police officer and I work for FEDERAL GOV‘T, We do not know how this is possible, we thought it illegal?? any advise you have would be welcome!!
