I agree! I LOVE METFORMIN! Don't get me wrong--I hated it the first month. I've lost ~10 lbs in the last 3 months. I am so suprised by the number of compliments I get from people I've known for awhile. I feel like it's helped me regain some femininity!

Me too! I have been on it for less than a week. Granted, I am only on 500mg, but the ENERGY has come roaring back to me. The scale is already moving in the right direction. I dont have the craving to eat all day anymore. I actually have to remind myself to eat during the day. What?!?!?!

My answer may change when the Endo decides to bump up my dose though, lol.

whoooooooo hoooooooooooo, I totally agree with you all. I have been on it just over 4 weeks and I have lost 16lb.

Its my miracle drug, I love the stuff, I have great energy, no more tiredness, moodiness, bouts of depression, its all gone. NO MORE PMT EITHER. I am a new woman. I am 35 and have been trying for years for a doctor/hospital to sort me out only to be laughed at time and time again.

I had to beg my GP a month ago, I think she finally saw the despair in my face, plus the fact everytime I went into her I looked like I had not slept in months. I just looked pure exhausted all the time.

My main reason for going on it was my constant craving for sugar/carbs. I had to be eating every 2 hours, I just could not stop. Now I eat 3 healthy meals and ALL CRAVINGS ARE GONE

I LOVE THIS STUFF!!!

Hey there ladies

Can i please interupt this post..... I have just started taking Metformin 500mg (one a day).. started Friday last week. I had a few dramas on the first day or two, i had a little bit of the runs (sorry tmi)... but i think i am over that now...(hopefully) fingers crossed i get the same results of weight lose as you guys. As that is the sole reason i was put on Metformin... to lose weight.

I have noticed in the few days i have started that i don't eat.. i have to remind myself to have lunch and tea etc... never had that before.

Fingers crossed for some noticable weight lose soon, as i want to try for babies at the end of the year, and i would really like to loose about 30-40kgs (absoulte dream goal)

All the best ladies

I've been on it since the middle of April. I've lost 10-15ish pounds. It's coming off slowly, but I think it'll stay off better that way. Even better is that my cravings are GONE. I don't crave sugar, dessert, etc. I am eating smaller meals. And...this might sound crazy....but I feel like my features have regained some feminity. I know my facial features look like I used to. People tell me I'm "glowing" and "look beautiful" all the time now--which I really think is the met and the improved insulin/glucose levels. The only other change I've made is to cut caffeine out of my diet. I haven't started exercising yet...but that's coming soon. I really hope it works for you.

I've also had a good experience with Metformin too. I wondered if I would at all, since I'm only on 850mg daily and I've read here that 1500 is the best dose to be on. I have had a decrease in cravings, and have finally gotten the motivation and energy to work out! I joined a gym and have gone 12 of the last 14 days since I joined. I have missed a couple days, and sure enough, those afternoons I'm crabby and extremely tired, and have that 'sugar slump' that used to be my life.

I'm very pleased with glucophage!!

I have noticed the increase in energy over the last couple of days and i haven't had any side effects which is good. I don't know if this is from the Met but i have noticed i am not as bloated or retaining water. I feel skinny...lol i know i have quite a few kilos (pounds) to loose but i am feeling better about the who thing considering the unpleasant way i was asked to take the tablets...

All the best ladies
