I'm very hairy!! I've always noticed that I had hair on my lip but never on the rest of my face. The other day in the car, I got a glimpse at my sideburns
Since I only had the mustache to deal with, I've always just plucked. Now what do I do?
I'm ttc so no BCPs or spiro. I'm not willing to let it grow out enough to wax, I've tried Nair and bleaching...both irritate my skin A LOT. Is laser or electrolosis the only way to go?
In my opinion, if you can wait to get it waxed, go for that route.
I have had the whole sideburn thing for years now, and waxing is the only hair removal process I can deal with. (I haven't tried laser though, as I am too broke.)
Electrolysis was painful and for the results it showed, it was too expensive.
hehe, welcome to the sideburn club.

I'd suggest looking into waxing. It may not have to be as long as you think for waxing to be feasible. I think it's worth looking into.... It seems like it would be a good option for you, provided it doesn't have to be very long. Maybe you could also try the lotions that slow growth. (Biore makes one....I think Aveeno does too)

I have always had this too, it was strange when I was younger I used to hate the hairdresser for not cutting it as no one elseI knew had hair there, it is only now I realise why! Strange how yound minds work. I remember the horror of suddenly realising though, not fun.
I used cream on it, I find sensitive hair removal cream is fine.

def. try waxing and let us know how you fair with it.
as for the biore hair stuff - I have the moisturizer that says it slows hair growth and I think it's just a gimmick. I love the moisturizer for the moisturizing properties, but it doesn't do much to stunt hair growth. (though after removal it makes the skin feel like 'normal' skin....for an hour or so.)

I noticed mine last year but didnt want to do anything about them ... i think i thought that they'd just vanish!
Eventually i gave in and i tried cream ... i really didnt like this! But it temporarily did the job (maybe i was impatient, but it didnt seem to work all that well). So i tried waxing it myself OMG! that was bad ... i think i tried shaving too as thats what i do nearly everywhere else!
Then this saturday i plucked (please excuse the pun ) up the courage and got my face waxed ... sides, tash, chin and brows too (not that my brows were hairy from pcos!). and it wasnt as painful as i imagined!! It boosted my confidence too! The lady who did it was really understanding and nice as well.
I'll just keep saving for the laser treatment ... till then keep waxing!
hello all, may i join the sideburn club!!!
I try not to look at them much and hide them with my hair!!! (Its cut in a straight bob) sometimes i use my epilady (which i use for neck and mustache) but ouch it hurts and gives me spots!!! have been growing all hair for the last couple of weeks as I wanted to try to wax it all off, but can't get round to it as it's so messy... looking like a gorilla at the moment !!! may reach for the razor soon..... Has anyone tried home waxing with the no heat stuff? Any good? I also had the thought that as i'm having my first gynie appointment soon that I may show it in its full glory to show the extent of the symptoms. Has anyone done this???? although not so sure now, was talking to a friend today and noticed she was looking at something on my face and not making eye contact......
at this moment I'm writing a list of symptoms and concerns for my gynie appointment in case I forget anything, its scary how long its getting..... keep thinking about going for a professional wax but too embarassed, I'm sure they've seen it all before but still.............
happy pucking, tweezing, waxing, etc, etc.....
Julie

Oh how, oh HOW I wish I could just simply wax my sideburns away. But my skin reacts weird to the wax that most places use. I've only ever gotten my eyebrows waxed, but everytime, my skin breaks out so bad and itches like a mo-fo...pardon the french. I don't want to imagine what it would be like if I went to wax my sideburns!!!

I also wish I could get my face waxed. I am so embarresed though, too. I hate to ask for the money cause I am affraid of what fiance will say. Like he doesnt know i am hairy or something.lol. I remember when i first noticed I had sideburns. I actually went into a panic attack of not knowing what to do with it. I am constantly affraid of people saying stuff. A co worker noticed them once when the sun was hitting my face and said oh look you need to shave. I about died.lol Anyways, I need to do my arms too. they are as hairy as my fiance's. I was so embarresed the other weekend on the boat. I have this nasty thought ----Do I have a hairy back tooo?
hugs

I have the side burns too...since I am getting electrolysis on my chin I am getting it on the side burns too but I find it so so ticklish there and I hate getting it done.
I hate Electrolysis so much, It is painful and costs alot. I am seriuosly thinking of getting laser done.

Sorry to hear that you've joined the club. I have a standing monthly appointment to get my eyebrows, lip and sideburns waxed. When hubby saw me plucking away one night, he said it looked more like torture than anything and asked how much a waxing would cost. I told him it was $30 total for all of those and he offered to pay every other time so I would feel less guilty about going.
The other thing I've learned is that I notice it's getting built back up more quickly than anyone, so don't be too hard on yourself.

For those of you who wax, does your hair come back prickly or smooth and soft?
De, its sad but I've been with my dh for over five years and as far as I know, he doesnt know that I have a problem with facial hair (although I'm sure he's seen it at some point and was just too sweet to say anything).
Mine comes back blonde and fine, very soft. (thank god!) And, it seems like repeated waxing damages the hair follicle so it doesn't come back as bad. I don't think it ever gets to the point with waxing where it just never comes back, unfortunately.
