Unhappy Oh it's gettin worse!!!!!! :(

Please help me cysters!!

I know u can't make the hair go away lol but its really gettin to me now.Since i was diagnosed, i seem to notice it more or its just decided to appear. I was at work the other day and to my absolute horror, i found nostril hair! NOSTRIL HAIR! Please tell me its not just me. I'm not just turning into a man, i'm turning into a beast!

I've noticed that my arms are really hairy compared to everyone else. I sit at work and look at ppl's arms. How sad. I didn't realise just how dark the hairs are. My moustache is growing at an astonishing rate and i don't know what to do about it cos i suffer from eczema and my skin is really sensitive. The nipple hair i just give up with. Its like that whack-attack game at the funfair where u beat those things with the hammer as they pop up.As soon as i get rid of one hair another one pops up!!

Sorry i really need a rant. Crying over blimin hair! get a grip girl! xxxx

I'm so sorry you're having a tough time with this. It really bothers me too. I know I feel more masculine as time goes by. I'll think back 6 months ago, and think, I wasn't this hairy, or I didn't have hair there. All you can really do it try to deal with the hair you have, make lifestyle changes as appropriate, and tell yourself that it doesn't change who you are as a person. If you want to talk, PM me.

It used to make me feel really horrible and unfeminine, but it doesn't bother me so much now.

Don't get me wrong, I still get rid of every sign of excess hair I can, and I hate having to do it, but it never makes me feel manly anymore. There's no way anybody could mistake me for a man, no matter how hairy I get.

Are you on therapy? If so, you'll just have to wait for the medicine to kick in....I can relate, because I only just went on spiro myself, and I can't wait until I see some sign of the hair starting to lessen. If I can get it off my face and chest I'll be happy.

Good luck, and be patient

The hair the hair the freakin hair!!!

Thats what I hate the most! I have never been one for "barbie doll femininity" but even with a much broader sense of what a woman should be, excess hair does not fit into my image!

I have been doing electrolysis on my face for over a year with moderate results, but it's over $100/month. I do dye the hair on my arms blond in the summer and now that the weather here has turned colder, long sleeves have solved the hairy arm problem. I so wish I could just say "PCOS" and people would know, oh, thats it so I wouldn't feel like everyone is looking at my hair. (Of course they aren't, but you know the feeling!)

I feel your pain cyster.

It's spironolactone, the generic term for Aldactone.

Little lady,

I know exactly how you feel. I do have to say though your posting made me giggle. One day, while at work I looked at my hand and noticed that along the top right hand side (below the pinky) I saw some hairs growing there! I freaked out and went home and looked at my husband's hand to compair. I totally freaked out thinking that I'm turning into an ape or something! Not to mention I predict by the time I'm 40 I'll be bald (or near to it) and so hairy on the rest of my body I could donate to my own head.

Some days I can't stand my hormones. Who came up with the idea that we needed hormones anyway? Well I hope today your feeling better! Oh look theres another one,... quick, dr. the tweezers!
