Question Ohip

ok, I called my MPP a while back, I could only get through to an assistant but I asked him several questions but got no real responds or anywhere with it.

facts are:
- ontario, espeically ottawa has a shortage of doctors
- it costs roughly 500 to see a dr thats charged to your OHIP card
- ottawas walk in clinics have one limit rules meaning you can only ask about or bring up ONE symptom and then you are basically kicked out so if you have PCOS or have more then one symptom u end up having to see a new dr for each one or the same walk in dr 3 or however many times, this is not only stupid, it can really lead to misdiagnoises and getting proper help
- naturalpath or holistic drs cost about 200-300, they sit down and talk about things and really listen and explain things and it only takes 1 visit to get everything out there

what I want to know is why isnt this covered under OHIP? we have a shortage of drs and yet there are alternative drs in ontario that could probably be more helpful for certian issues and yet OHIP doesnt cover it? why? has anyone been stuck wanting to just have a dr really listen to them and their issues and get help but have run into these stupid walkin limits and or not been able to get a family dr and cant afford to see a naturalpath dr on your own?

my MPP's assistant said that because its never been brought up to the ministry of health as something to try and get covered under OHIP that two things could either be done... either you can write to your MPPs with research on the matter and see if they will do anything about it or a formal petition could be made and get as many signatures as possible and submit them in... I was just wondering if anyone else has thought about doing this?
