My whole body is like this!!!! And I'm not kidding... My hair, arms, face, neck, chest and back. If I don't wash my hair every 18 hours or so, it will be an oily grease bit. I haven't found anything to help mine. I've noticed that DS#2 has a lot of oily skin if he goes 24 hrs or more without a bath.

Lightbulb Why does Oil have to exist . . .

Okay we have like oil everywhere but the only good oil is COOKING OIL! And the oil on our face isn't enough for frying our favorite fish n chips . . . but this isn't my point err yea about the whole oily thingy firefighters_wife, apart from stress its also the food we eat . . . I researched yesterday on how to decrease facial oil production and some sites sed dat the oil from dairy products and oily food are discharged from our pores, and lots of veggies and water will keep our toxins and ichy oil flowing out of our body. I also hav oily chest area, neck and back. My limbs and hair are alrite tho. We shud try drinking lots of water. That's one step. Hmm . . . I like only drink a cup of water in 2 days which is so very very bad ohw . . . Mellarya.

I too was bothered with very oily skin for many years.Still get oily, but not as bad as I use to.I've used medications, topicals, peels, and procedures,I guess after all that, and by the grace of God,it's finally paid off because I'm not as oily as I use to be.I have a thread entitled "Acne Options"on here in the acne section.Check it out.I did a little research and there some medically effective treatments out there, that will slow oil production. So no your not alone.BTW..My skin was so oily that I couldn't even eat foods that were fried or baked that had oil in them because that would cause me to break out.I know medically they say that "grease"can't break you out,but I'm the exception. It's not just fried foods either,if a piece of fish is baked in oil,or too much oil is secreated from the meat,w/o proper drainage,it will break me out.I have noticed that peanut oil, don't break me out.You would like olive oil would be the safest, but I used that on a salad once, and it broke me out bad..I guess my skin just got a mind of it's on

Has anyone had any luck with tea tree oil to treat oily faces? Some of my college friends used to swear by it.

Default Oil caused by Food

I guess what causes the facial oil to increase is different for every person ... but it seems true that food really could cause you to break out. I will try have control over what I consume from now on. And I will read your thread, Chloe.

Well Nicole I've used Burt's Tea Tree Oil or something like that for a while but nothing really happened it only smelt very strong. Today if I smell the same thing it reminds me of Hawaii because I bought it there and used it there . . . oh uhm so for me tea tree oil doesn't work - no luck.

See ya guys, JolieBelowTheOil!

I have very oily skin as well. In the summer, I would need to powder my face at least once an hour. In May, I started using Bare Minerals make-up...the kind on the infomercials...I was in NYC and went to the actual Bare Minerals store to try it out. It is wonnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnderful! I NEVER even need to powder my face ALL day long in the desert heat of Vegas! I have never ever been like this before ... it has also helped my face clear up, too!

Hope this helps!

Bare minerals make-up at the Bare Minerals store in NYC... well MelodyGrace, do you have any idea where else it is sold? If so it'll be really helpful... I wanna go search for em, get em, and use em!!! Well my face is much better from my Acne everyone now, because of soap and loufa (is that how you spell it!?) and its on a thread called "Here and There of This and That!" The second post in that thread talks about how soap and loufa worked for me.

But still, the oil on my face is arghhhh!!!!! So I'll try and get Bare minerals even through the net and see if they work for me... Thanks!

Well, besides online and on the infomercial, I know you can get it at Ulta Cosmetics. They may list stores it is available on their website...not totally sure. I would check it for ya, but I am having an insane day! Had to take a breather and just come here to see what was going on.

Hope you find it!

Have a great day!

JolieBelow the oil:

My face is extremlly oily. I have tried everything. I even tried Sprio. the thing with Spiro it did help alittle but my hair was falling out bad. The doc. now wants to put me on accutane. I am really thinking about it. Not only my face but my body was oily, my neck, ears...ewww. Anyway I have shine control paper handy at all times. I will keep reading suggestions.

My face has been a greasepit since puberty. At 32 it's still going strong and is currently being made worse by my BCP (Seasonale). TWO rounds of Accutane as a teen didn't even dry me out to "normal", while my poor friend who also did Accutane had hunks o' skin peeling off!

I beat my skin into submission now with at least one mask a day. Either one made with 6 uncoated aspirin dissolved in aloe vera (works great for zits and scars!) or one of the general clay variety. In addition to that I use a toner made of half distilled water and half apple cider vinegar 2x daily. For the first time in my life my makeup stays on for at least four hours without a touchup

If you haven't tried already, try using a light moisturizer on your face at least nightly. I know it seems counterintuitive, but apparently one's skin can overproduce oil if it feels too "stripped". This has also helped me greatly.

But hey... think positive gals. Sure we might be greasy, but we sure won't prematurely wrinkle! People can't believe my age when I tell them. They think I'm about 21!
