Default Oily skin?

I have the oilest skin I have ever seen!

My skin shines, it's so oily, and it is gross. I wipe it with a paper towel and can see the oil on the paper towel. Then about an hour later, it is back.

I've been using that AcneFree (the knock off Proactiv stuff from Walmart) and it helps with the acne but not the oiliness.

Has anyone else tried anything that works, that's fairly affordable? I don't want to spend hundreds of dollars....

Thanks ladies!

I use St. Ives acne facial cleansers - the Apricot Scrub and the cleanser with the little beads in it. Something with Salicylic Acid is usually good for oily skin. It has worked wonders on mine. I use the scrub in the shower on my face, upper arms, chest (TMI, but on my rear too)

I have used the stuff from AVON it's called TruPorefection. It worked great for me, maybe it will help you.

I've heard a thin layer of Milk of Magnesia does a good job controlling oil.

Wink

i completely understand!! you could cook an egg on my forehead
!!! when i was on the pill it stopped but now im off the bcps itw worse than ever ;i use a skin wash with sacylic acid and zinc in it, and also i use an anti shine powder like stay matte by rimmel. but true enough within the hour my skin does shine again.i may try that avon product recommended if its that good. the way i think of it is that at least having more oil in our skin will delay wrinkles!!!

I forgot Im a bit of a Jap fan so in case you dont understand blotting papers are tiny rice papers that you quickly pat on your skin. They are tiny enough to be in your wallet. My skin is super oily and not even spiro brings it down. Lots of companies in Canada and the USA make them now and they dont smear make up and also contain something to not only get rid of shine but prevent it.

be careful that whatever you are using to clean your face is not giving you that tight feeling if you overly dry ou tyour face it can cause yor skin to produce more oil. i suggest looking into a cleanser that cleans without drying and a light weight moisturizer (oil free). Mary kay has great products you can find a consultant in your area by vistiting www.marykay.com enter your zip code and they will give you a name and number. i suggest the velocity line it comes with a cleanser for acne prond skin a light weight moiturizer and an oil matifier. you can call a consultant and get samples before you purchase the products or get facialed to try it before you buy it. i know a lot about mary kay because i'm a consultant with them and have been using their products for 2 yrs my skin is the best the best it's ever been. i hope this helps if you.

I use to use those blotting papers years ago, perhaps I should try them again, maybe they will do the trick for me again!

Topical products just won't accomplish much unless you can use them every few hours. Have your doctor prescribe Spironolactone (referred to many times as Spiro). It flushes the male-type hormones out of your body that cause the oil production (and acne). You cannot become pregnant while on it though.
