Question Oily skin, reduced appetite, normal?

I started 1000mg of met 7 days ago and if anything my skin and hair have become more oily!

I've also had less of an appetite, which I won't complain about and the GI upset that so many women complain about.

I am still feeling tired and getting headaches although I started taking b12 suppliments with the met.

Oh, and lets see, my mood is all over the place and I get VERY hot at times. Is this a sign that maybe my body is starting to respond and work a little better or is it all in my head?

Are all these things normal? Do you have any suggestions for how to handle them best.

Thank you all so much for your posts here, the support and information here is making all the difference in the world.

I'm not a doctor, so I can't tell you if that's normal for you, but I can tell you that everyone seems to have different responses when they start met. You have to understand that if your hormones have been messed up in the past, this may be your body's way of "getting right" and working toward correcting the imbalance. I did notice a little less of an appetite in the beginning, too. The best thing I can tell you is that if you are concerned, please share these things with your doctor, just to be sure everything is okay. Some cysters can have reactions to fillers and binders that they use to compound the drug, and switching may help.

Hello Kendra,

My endo has just started me on 1000mg per day in order to increase to 2000mg per day and I have been having the same symptoms as you w/ the oily skin and feeling hot and nauseated, my dr. wants me to try it for a week or so but if the symptoms don't subside we will try something else. I started on 500mg and I had the same symptoms at first until I got adjusted so maybe it happens whenever we increase dosage??? Good Luck!

Thank you for the responses.

The side effects do seem to be improving slowly, I really am eager to see some positive effects, trying to hang in there with diet and exercise.

Good luck to you both!
