Oing LATE while on Clomid??

Have any of you on Clomid O'd later than 5-10 days after last dose?

I have taken Clomid twice(2 cycles) now on days 3-7. Usually I need Provera to jump-start cycle. The first cycle on clomid I was on vacation during the time I would have started it and Doctor said to wait until I got back and if No AF then do a Blood test before Provera and did blood test when I got back and sure enough the very next afternoon AF showed up! So, Cycle ended up being 42 days long!

I am unsure if I actually O'd or not. I did OPKs day 11-18, I think I got a positive OPK on CD 11 & 12, but not sure, and Temps did not confirm it!

This month I bought 2 OPK kits! So far nothing! I think I may have got a + yesterday, maybe...color is close but line not same thickness.(which is what happened last month). I have a little more CF this month(I think). I am on my second box of OPKs.

SO, When on Clomid is it possible to O later in your cycle then the 5-10 days after last dose, like they say you should? Today is CD 20 for me, so I guess I am still hoping I have a chance of getting pregnant!

Did your doctor recommend using OPK's? My doctor told me that because of the PCOS my LH levels were already high so the kits wouldn't accurately predict ovulation. Although I was getting a line EVERY time I tested, regardless, so hopefully that means they are working for your! I wish you the best of luck!

Yes, my doctor recommeded the use of the OPKs. Of course, the box of the kit I bought(Answer from Wal-Mart) says that PCOS may affect the use of the OPK! But I do not know what excatly that means. Every time I use it there is two lines, just sometimes the color might change and the thickness is not always the same as the reference line. So I don't know. But thank you for your response.

Maybe the Clomid didn't make you O, but you Oed on your own and it happened to be a little later?

Do you temp? If you do, you'd have a better idea of when you actually did O.

OPKs are ok, but they are a little primitive. (And not too exact for PCOS ladies... in fact I've had + on CD 11 and 12 and then on 17 and 18 in the same cycle!)

Daily BBT taking is much more useful.

Thank you for that info. I was afraid of that. The first cycle using OPKs I had Positives on CD11/12 and 17/18. This cycle CD 19 & 23. I do chart my temps. and they don't show a diffent Oing pattern either. This is all confusing and frustrating for me. I just want to see a clear sign that I am Oing so that I can have a normal chance to get a BFP with a H&H 9 months to follow!

You poor thing.... those charts are all over the place!!!

I'd say if your temp stays up one or two more days, then you just O'ed. Maybe you need to go up another 50 mg next month??

Hello there dolphinlover,

I've just finished my first clomid cycle -- I ovulated late, and I'm pregnant!! So don't loose hope -- its reasonably common to ovulate late on Clomid -- that egg could be just around the corner!

I took the Clomid on days 5-9, ovulated on day 22 (confirmed by an almost-positive OPK on day 20 and then a temperature jump on day 23 -- you can see my chart if you click on ticker in my signature.) I had hardly any CM this time, so I was sure it wasn't going to work...but it did!!! I actually asked my RE if ovulating on day 22 was a bad sign, and she said nothing to worry about, especially since my natural cycles are very long.

If you go up to the top where it says "store" then you can select "gift" and you can choose who you want to give a gift to. Usually they are 25 points. (Right now you have 45 points, so you can give one to someone.) I like to give them to people who don't have a lot of gifts.... find a new person and spread the love!

To get to your profile, go to User CP on the top left.... along the left side in there will be your control panel and that's where you can make a siggy and see who has given you karma... which are those little green boxes under your name.

You give karma by clicking on the white "scales" under someone's name... over by the exclamation point in the red triangle.

Your temp, btw, is still looking a little erratic. Have you printed out your charts to ask your Dr about them?

Well, I went to an RE on Tuesday. He was great. Said that I am still NOT Oing, and that He would like to up Clomid doseage to 100mg and to do a Serum Progesterone and Prolactin on CD 25-27 to see if I did Ovulate or not. and then go form there. So, right now we are waiting for AF to show up.

Can I ask where in the Bay Area you are and who your RE is?? I am thinking it may be time to get more serious than clomid w/ my OB...

eta - I am south bay... There's a great place in Fremont but my insurance says thay cover them but THEY say they don't take my insurance... I have also been told of a good doc in Palo Alto (Diane Swierz) but I made an appt. w/ her and cancelled and am just looking for all my options before rescheduling...)
