Default Ok I'm doing an experiment (hair loss)

I started taking a prenatal vitamin because my doctors said it may help stop my hair loss and/or fill it in. My hair has been thinning out really bad off and on for the past year. I don't have any bad bald spots yet, but it's very thing.

The thing is my hair is still growing and the new roots are blond, which is incredibly weird to me. I am a natural blond but for most of my life it changed to dark brown with blond ends. Now it seems to be correcting itself, but being more of a strawberry blond. Anyway. I started taking the vitamins last week. I hope it helps and will keep everyone posted! So far I'm still losing the same amount of hair each day though.

I took prenatel vitamins...didnt do much for HL just made my hair grow fast and I had to get my roots touched up more often! Have you tried spiro or anything? That would probably be more effective.

No I haven't. I don't really want to take spiro in case I get pregnant.

I don't care if it grows back in real fast, as long as it thickens a bit. Even if I keep losing.

My docs blamed my hair loss on me losing weight and said it was my hormones. Does this sound right? Of course when they tested my hormones they said they were within normal levels, so that just confused me.

No woman in my known family has hair loss. Even my mom who has mild PCOS. But we'll see how it goes. Thanks!

ir do not cause hairloss, it causes androgens to go up, androgens cause hairloss

multivitamins wont do much unless you have a deficiency in one of them.

with pcos hair loss is due to excess androgens. you could try spiro or rogaine.

if you take spiro you can still get pregnant you just have to get off the medication.

Well figured I'd do an update because this morning my hair loss was very very minimal. I'm wondering if the prenatal vitamins are helping or not. Figured I would share. My thin/bald spots aren't as noticeable either... didn't think I'd see results this fast. Maybe I'm imagining it but surely there wasn't hardly any hair loss this morning.

How could your bald spot have filled in so quickly??? maybe the vitamins makes your hair bouncier and add volume...

Well it wasn't really a bald spot so much as a really thin spot. My hair is naturally curly so it's always wavy. It definitly seems to have filled in somewhat though.
