Default Ok my testosterone/androgen levels are through the roof and I DON'T have excess hair!

Is that not wierd? I'm not complaining, it's just that it seems to be such a problem, and I don't have it. Maybe it's just one of those 'eeny miny mo' things
:o

Default Hair

I had high testosterone levels too. 119. I did not experience excess hair, but I did have hair loss, weight gain, acne, and irregular cycles. I did not have insulin resistance or high glucose levels. I have been taking Metformin and Spironolactone for over a year now, with great results. I have lowered my testosterone level to 19. I have regular cycles and I am able to lose weight again. I guess everyone with PCOS experiences it differently. Good Luck.

M Allison~

You said you had hair loss? By being on Met and spiro for over a year has it helped with your hair loss by any chance? My doctor wants to put me on it but I only want to take something that will help with the hair loss.

I'm just tired of being on so many meds!

Default Hair Loss

I took both Met and Spironolactone for at least six months before I noticed new hair growth. The hair stopped falling out after about two months. I don't have a full head of hair, but I don't have any shiny spots anymore. I have naturally curly hair so I am able to hide sparse areas. The combo of pills has lowered my testosterone level and I believe that helps me overall. I may look into rogaine for women.
