Default Ok, so I have PCOS

Hi,

I'm 26 and have had PCOSish issues since puberty...the hair on my legs got ridiculous like a man's and also my arm hair is very long. But I had very regular periods and I was skinny.

When I was about 17 I got moderate acne which cleared up with use of antibiodics. I didn't have acne after that for about five years. I started to get a happy trail around my nipples too.

At about 19 I started to get a couple of course hairs along my jawline.

Then at 22, the most difficult symptom; my insanley thick hair thinned dramatically. That's when i knew I wasn't normal because no one, but no one that I knew had hair loss issues at my age. The only women I knew with hair loss were menopausal. At this time I also started to get light acne.

In the last year, my periods have been occurring sometimes regularly, and sometimes after 5-6 weeks. I went to a couple of gynos who were both really helpful. I am not IR, but my testosterone was "slightly, slightly elevated" according to my doc. It was at 89 on a scale of something to 76.

So my current symptoms are, hair loss, acne, hirsutism and slightly irregular periods. My extra hair growth is at its worst in my pubic area and bikini line, ugh. My thighs are really hairy, more than my calves. My arms are pretty hairy too and I have a few thick hairs that grow on my neck and jawline.

I am ttc so I don't want to go on the Pill right now...also I have an incredibly strong family history of breast cancer so I don't know if I will ever take the Pill. I just don't want my symptoms to continue getting worse.

The hair loss butchered me but I am ok now. I still have a normal amount of hair on my head but I feel altered. You can see scalp if you move my hair...it's female pattern loss. I've come to terms with it. Before the hair loss, I never thought much of the hirsutism because I'm Indian/Paki and a lot of us are hairy. I just don't want my symptoms to continue getting worse.

Any thoughts! Love to all!
