July 16th was my last AF. It was also my last cycle of being on the BCP. Meaning I have been off the pill for the first time in about 3 years. I have noticed I get less headaches, less mood swings, and my skin has cleared about alot (strange huh)
I was on the pill for 3 years and had AF with the pill everymonth. But now here I sit on CD45 and still havent gotten my period. The thing is so how do you know if its just because you came of the pill, or maybe there is a .5% chance that you could maybe just maybe be preg. ( I am almost positive that I am not) but how do you know? Would you wait another month then take a test or what would you personlly do? I am on Metformin 1000 mgs (suppose to be at 2000) I have had unprotected sex since I have been off the pill. But do you think I should give it one more month. Like I said its been 45 days and I usualyl get it every 28-30 with the pill.

The best way to find out is to test There is the possibilaty that you may be pregnant, and if you are you can start getting prenatal care. If with 1000mg of met it may have helped you to ovulate.
Then ther is the possibilaty that you are not and if so you may want to take provera to bring af down.

Well sweetie the only thing I can tell you is to take a test. I know that this is scary and sometimes when you think about it to much your body and hormones will freak out. Have a friend or significant other be with you don't do this alone. Be calm and cool when you take it try real hard not to be nervous. Whatever the test says I would still make and appt to see the docotor only they really know what is going on. Good luck and keep me informed. Good luck...But if it takes BCP to make AF regular, more than likely you aren't PG. I would take a pg test if you think you are so you can make appt to see Obgyn...if that comes up neg and you still don't get af, then go see obgyn.
Before I found out that i was pg with my 2nd child 15 years ago, I didn't know it. I ovulated late in the cycle and the pg test wouldn't work on me. I even went ot the doc's office for the test and it still came up neg. So he wanted to see me the following week after the 2nd test in his office came up negative. So I went in for a physical with my obgyn and he checked me. The pg test still came up negative, but he said that I was pg. I was 5 weeks late at this point. I was actually 6 weeks pg when I found out with that kid. The doc didn't understand what had happened and why the tests kept coming up negative....I hope this helps and good luck.

Definitely take a test!! I came off the BCP May 13, 2005 and became pregnant on May 16, 2005. I was and am on 1000mg of Metformin. The BCP really regulated my system, but the Metformin really kicked up the ovulation. It was so hard to get pregnant the first time, DH and I thought we would be trying for at least a year to two years before we became pregnant and then it literally happened in three days. Please take a test and find out if you are pregnant. I took a test on May 28th and it showed I was pregnant. So some do show early results. Please let us know how things turn out. If you are afraid of a false negative on the test, let your doc know and have him/her do a blood test for pregnancy. Hope this helps.

I'm new to this website and post, but I'm learning a lot already. Shyrae I'm actually going through the same situation myself right now. BC regulated my period/cycle, but I got off of it and now everything is out of wack. I took a Preg. test and it came out negative, but I'm still not sure how to gage it or when I should check again. I'm just going to have to go to the doctor to ease my fears. So Shyrae, keep your head up, know you're not the only one going through this particular situation right now. Let me know what happens!
I went off BCP in April and didnt' have any sign of AF until August. And it was only spotting for 4 days. It might take your body awhile to adjust. Be patient and try not to stress out over it too much! I know it's hard, I was frustrated all summer because I wanted my period!

Hello there! When I went of BCP, I didn't have my period for six months. I went to the doc and I got provera to make af come. I'm on met, but it still doesn't come on its own! Good luck!
