I was dx with PCOS last February so its been a year. Haven't done anything as far as treatment goes. I am just so tired of everything and my gross body! I have acne, though not bad, weight gain, facial hair and other body hair, no AF (maybe 1-2x a year) can't get pg of course, no libido, you name it , I have it.
Why don't I do anything? I hate doctors!! I see a midwife, which I love but I just dont' think she is the one to be dealing with this.
Someone kick me in the BUTT and make me see a regular doctor! Anyone know of any good OBGYNs that deal with PCOS in Lincoln Nebraska??
you're going to get out your yellow pages, find the section marked "physicians", pick the correct type of docter and make a phone call. Listen to your instinct. If you feel good about that office, make an appointment. This is just the first step. But when you're done making your appointment, you are going to feel so much better about this first step. Come back here and report about this accomplishment!!
Small steps in the right direction will get you where you need to go. You can do it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I understand how you feel. By accepting treatment, you are accepting your health situation. But the earlier you treat it, the more manageable it may be.
Quick example. For years the doctor tried to get me to take Glucophage. I tried it and it made me sick, so I was put on Glucophage XR. I made excuses but deep down I kept trying to tell myself I really didn't need the medicine. I know I would be better off if I wouldn't have been stubborn and consistently had taken my medicine.
You deserve to be the healthiest you possible!!! Find a good doctor, get the right tests (check out the stickies), meds, etc.
And honestly, this website has been the best for me. Just being able to have someone else say, "I've been where you are and it will get better, I promise".

I'm gonna stop looking back and starting moving on
And learn how to face my fears
Love with all of my heart, make my mark
I wanna leave something here
Go out on a ledge, without any net
That's what I'm gonna be about
Yeah, I wanna be running
When the sand runs out

I tried calling today but called a little late and they were closed. First time I actually tried though! Thats good right???
I will definitely call tomorrow morning so I know they will be open. Been reading up on all I need to talk to them about to possibly treat this and hopefully have another baby!
Been TTC since DD was born Jan 2001. M/C Nov 2002 and still haven't be able to get pregnant. Frustrating but I only have myself to blame for it, since I won't go in and seek help.
But! Now that I have found this site and can get support and love when I need it, I will do it!
