Default Okay, Cysters Did I "O"!?!?!?!?!? im clueless

Okay ladies I need your expert advice and you all would know before any body else I know. Heres the download:
I have not known of my PCOS for very long and have alot to learn about my body. I just always walked threw life thinking the day i lost by virginity I would get pregnant (my parents had me scared) anyway...I didnt have my period for 3 months (may-july) and was given a pill to make my period come well it come and never left (aug-nov) well early november my dr. told me to take 2 BC pills every day untill my period stops and as soon as it stops start a new package and do that for 2 months in hopes for me to get regulated. Well, during this time have decided to learn about my body and have been reading up on mucus, temps, etc. DH and I decided to start clomid when I have my visit with the dr in February. So, we decided that during this time we would experiment with temps and mucus. Well, this morning I woke up and we took my temp. (the temp thing hasnt gone well because I had cold) but when we check my mucus (yes this is a team effort) I had mucus that was egg whites.. to my shock and amazement we immediately started well..you know!!! My thing is I am sure that since I am on BC we will not get pregnant but it gave me hope that I could ovulate because I never knew I did. The only thing I wonder and sorry for all the typing for this simple question is how come today I have zits and I dont usually have them i have a good dozen zits on my face when usually I only have 1 or 2. Do zits come along with ovulating???? Also, you have to take BC for 2-3 months before it gets in your system??? I am so very very very clueless and curious as to what you experts think...thanks for your time as I know this was alot of reading.

I'll try to help ya out as much as I can, but please remember this is based on my wacky body and experiences with it!

I think that yes indeedy you did ovulate. Yes, many women get zits when they ovulate, so that's a sign. The mucus is a big sign as well. I've never ttc, so I can't help you out with the temperature thing.

As for the BCPs, from what I've been told it is in your system at full levels after seven days and certainly by a month. People CAN ovulate on them, even though you aren't supposed to. I'm one of those folks. In fact, that's one of the few times I do! And believe me, you can get pregnant on them.

I'm hoping for ya!

For what it's worth, I break out around 'O' and around 'AF' every month (wahoo, teenage acne in my late 30's, life is grand). Also, I have a fertile myrtle friend who conceived both of her kids on BCP. She had taken antibiotics both times which lowers the efficacy of the drug and boom, pg. If only it were so easy for the rest of us!

Well, if you are on BCP, you normally would not O. But then again, if you had only been on the BCP for a short period of time (say a week or so) then its possible you ovulated.
The zits, yes they could very well be due to O.

If you have a long history of irregular periods, I don't think BCP's are likely to get you regulated. The best you could hope for is that that BCP will keep your hormones under control for a while. I notice in your signature than you are on Met. I think in the long run the Met might do more for you than the birst control pills -- I'd ask your doctor about upping your Met dosage to at least 1500mg.

thanks so much. I go to my dr. early next year to evulate my met to see if it should be increased/decreased she said she wanted to start me out low. I had a 3 mon. long clotty AF and so the dr only gave me the bcp's for 2 months to stop it. I had only taken the bcp for a week and a half when i think i ovulated. The dr also said the best time to "try" getting pregnant would be right after I stopped taking the BCP's because my body will be somewhat "normal". I just dont know 1/2 the time what to do as I either dont have periods or i cant get rid of them.
