Default Okay to start Met in the a.m.?

Hi,

I'm trying regular old metformin after my failure with glucophage xr. And I just wanted to know if it was okay to start my 500mg in the morning with breakfast...

I always took my gluc xr with my evening meal, and if I woke up in the middle of the night I would always be dizzy and nauseous.

I was hoping that I could take the met during the day, as my prescription does not say when to take it.

Also, I do not have to worry about s/e as I'm home most of the day.

Thanks in advance...

I take regular Met, and my doctor prescribed for me to take it with breakfast and dinner, as I've been doing for 2 years now. So yes, it's perfectly fine and recommended to take it with breakfast!

Well, I did it! No problems except some mild dizziness and vomiting in the p.m., though I also had a migraine so that could easily be the cause of that.

I am on day three and doing great. Just waiting til Saturday when I can up the dosage. thanks for your support!
