I have recently developed Rosacea and its awful, my cheeks are very flushed looking all the time, and I have little red pimples on them. I sometimes get a burning sensation too and its just horrible.
SO, I went to a big department store today and took my time going around all the counters and came across Sisley. I would love to hear from anyone who has tried the stuff because I feel like the most self-indulgent person EVER for spending that. I am trying to tell myself that its important that I look after my skin and get it looking good for my wedding but I am finding it a little hard to convince myself!!!

I found Sisley on the internet, and also found a couple of sites where I can get it a little cheaper so I know that if it works for me then I can buy it there.
My skin actually feels nice and 'not tight' today, the redness is still there but not as angry looking...am feeling hopeful!
If anyone has used it or read any reviews on the Sisley products I would really be grateful if you could let me know.

Georgy, I spent $120 on some foundation last year. The sales lady convinced me that it would solve all my makeup woes. I used it one time and hated it. If it had worked, it would have been worth it.
I'm glad your already seeing some results. Hopefully it will be great!!
Did you know that "yer auld pal" here has rosacea, too?!
It's got to be our fair Scottish skin!
I can sympathize with the redness and burning. I got so tired of people saying, "Why is your face so red?" Or saying, "Man, you sure got a bad sunburn...don't you use sunscreen?!"
If you haven't already, I would strongly suggest going to a dermatologist. I finally got some prescription cream for my rosacea: Metrolotion. There is also Metrogel. I know that SoulCyster dna has rosacea, too and I think she was using this. You might do a search here because us "rosacea cysters" have posted before with makeup tips, too. Here is the website for Metrogel prescription products, although I am not sure if it's available outside of the US:
Surprisingly after using it faithfully for about a year my rosacea is almost gone, although most folks have to use it the rest of their lives. I might have to go back to using it if it flares up again.
Do your department stores carry Clinique? I like using their "City Block" sunblock in a little tube. It is oil free and has a touch of tint to it. So, I get the sunscreen protection and the tint covers the red of my rosacea. It has never irritated my skin. It's about $15 a tube (maybe about 7 pounds over there?)
Good luck!
Kathryn

OMG Lauraann, $120 for a foundation???? Surely she should have given you a sample first. These people have no scruples, its all to get commission isn't it? I worked in a shop for a whole 3 weeks, I packed it in for 2 reasons 1. My feet were killing me!! and 2. I hated the pressure on me to sell the shopcards.
I used to say to people if they asked for a creditcard "DON'T DO IT!! its the worst mistake you'll make!" the interest on those cards was atronomical and people were talked into getting them so easily, I actually found it quite hard talking some of them out of gettng them!!
anyhoo...my skin is looking slightly less angry, but thats only 2 days so I will check back in, in a couple of weeks and let you know if its as good as they say. And if it is, I will buy it again - but from the internet where its cheaper....because you're right Lisadukk, I'm worth it - we all are !!
Kat honey, thank you so much for that advice. I will speak with my doctor next time I go and find out what they can do for me. I have spent so many years treating my skin for acne and oily skin, that I have no idea what to do with dry burny skin!! I have always been highly coloured but not to this degree.
sending you all some good karma

It is my most favorite website for product reviews. BTW, what cleanser is it that you are using? I don't have rosacea, but I do have acne. I find more expensive skincare seems to give better results for me. I don't know why and I wish cheaper things worked, but I guess that's just the way it is.
Its like a new pair of shoes ...There are always justifications for the splurges we make
