I just read it this morning off of MSN...
That was a shock to me too!

That is so weird that he would die that way, Stingrays are like harmless alomst. At the aquariums they have kids petting them?

He is with crocs and snakes and all those other deadly animals and nothing like that happened?

I feel sorry for his wife and kids.

Too sad! He drove me up the wall, but what a wonderful family man. He has done so much for conservation. A huge loss to the world.

My thoughts and love to his family.x

They clip the stingers off in those kind of situations so that no one will get hurt. From what I understand the rays that he may have been around are much much larger than you would see in a petting area at an aquarium. There was someone on the news from the Sydney Aquarium tonight that showed a couple of stingers, one about the size of a pen and the other the size of a large knife.

I really feel for his family.

He must have been really loved! I've seen about 10 threads about him so far today! I know my husband loved watching his show.

So sad, just 44 years old.

Get involved in animal rescue. You won't be sorry. Your heart may break, there may be times when your eyes are red-rimmed for days. You may lose faith in the goodness of people, but your spirit will be renewed by the resilience of those you save. It isn't easy, but it's worth it. I promise you, you will be forever changed.

I couldn't believe this when I saw it on the news this morning. I liked him and really enjoyed his programs. He was so passionate about all wildlife. You could really see that when watching his tv shows. He will be missed, thats for sure. When I was taking my injections last cycle, I would watch his show on animal planet to distract me while DH gave them to me. Same time every night, crocodile hunter, and my injections. I feel so bad for his friends and family. It's a great loss.

Wow! I just came across this while reading news on AOL. I can't believe it! He has done so much to raise animal awareness, especially for reptiles. Being the owner of a snake, I have really appreciated the awareness he has brought to everyone. May he rest in peace and may his wife and children carry on his legacy.
