Default Once you are pg, how often should you be tested?

I was under the impression that you had to be monitored fairly closely to see if dosage needed to be changed. When should I expect testing to begin?

Thanks!

You should be tested with your first blood draw... where the doctor tests hCG (beta) levels.

Tod my knowledge, that wasn't done...I'm having an u/s in a week, so I'll insist on it then. Will I be safe waiting that long?

As long as you feel ok, yeah.

Doctors usually test with first blood draw because during very early pregnancy, thyroid hormone can be low. This is also the time when your baby needs it, so it's important to keep it within normal range.

When your hCG reaches 50,000+ they should test it again... because sometimes hCG can have a thyroid stimulating effect, causing you to become hyper, which increases morning sickness EXTREMELY.

Then they need to check at around 12-15 weeks because if there's another change it could be around then...
