It all began with a few stray hairs,
upon her chinny, chin chin.
Then some extra pounds arrived,
where she had once been thin.

All of a sudden her monthlies stopped,
which at first didn't bother her at all.
Except when she and hubby tried,
to conceive a baby that fall.


Her family MD didn't seem to know,
the cause of all her pain.
So many cramps - yet no cycles,
and she always felt so drained.


Finally she had an appointment,
with a doctor who performed all the right tests.
This doc looked her right in the eye as she said -
"You have pcos".


"Pco - what?" she nervously asked.
"What the HELL is that?!"
"It is the cause of all your pain,
and why you now are fat."


She left the doctor's in a huff,
not quite sure where to turn.
The doctor had not told her much,
there was more she wanted to learn.


She surfed the net for info,
tears streaming down her face.
She felt full of sadness and frustration,
until she found the place.


Friendly people, lots of info,
as caring as her own Mom.
She soon realized things would get better,
