One extreme to the next... I was diagnosed with PCOS last month and just began treatment with Metformin. After 10 years of irregularity and being told to just "take the pill" I am EXTATIC to have a doctor who listened to me and realized that the pill isn't always the answer. Right now I am taking the pill for 3 months to sort of clean everything out, and the doctor said by that time the metformin should be working. I have taken 1 pill a day since October 18, and am supposed to increase by 1 pill a week until I am at 4 pills a day (2 in the morning and 2 in the evening) if my body will handle it. Up until yesterday I was very very fatigued to the point where all I could do when I got home from work was walk my dog and take a shower. Tuesday I feel like I got over the constant fatigue and had indescribable amounts of energy. Tuesday, Wednesday, and THursday I have spent constantly moving my legs and getting up to walk around; around mid-day I feel like I have energy and fatigue battling one another. Has anyone else experienced this? Aside from nausea and occasional lightheadedness, this is the only problem I have had. I really want this to work, but I don't know that I can handle this? Does it go away after the body adjusts fully? Thanks everyone! So nice to have support with this strange and frustrating syndrome! It's wonderful to know that I'm not alone out there! |
