Good Lord, you think you heard it all.
I was watching some show on VH1 about the 20 skinniest celebrities and they profiled Victoria Beckham, you know Posh Spice. She claimed that she was super skinny because she had...are you ready for this?? POLYCYCTIC OVARIAN SYNDROME!!!
Someone PLEASE explain to me, how this is possible....is it possible or is someone so deep in denial she's pulling ANY explaination out her ass??
If that were the case I think alot of us here wish we had her symptoms!

apparently she really does have PCOS. she's been an advocate in the UK for research, etc. and I think she's only recently going public on the issue. I think what she meant is that she overcompensates for the fact that she gains weight really easily by not eating much and exercising a ton. Though of course she wouldn't put it in those words on television ..

Wow, and Jules Oliver too it says in that article. I never would've guessed. They can't have many symptoms, or if they do they keep them well under control. And as for Victoria Beckham. She always seems to be pregnant!
Oh well, makes me feel better to know I'm in good company!
Wow i wish my weight was like victoria beckhams well similar i wouldnt want to be as thin as a stick.

well girls i think that we need to remember that she has the money to keep her symptoms under control and do anything and everything in her power to control her symptoms.
Maybe they had fertility help and it is a big hush hush, if she is an advocate you would think that she would be honest about everything.
Also maybe she has anorexia and is hiding it.
I have reserched that the majority of PCOS is overweight b/c of insulin resistance, if she has a chef round the clock, maybe it is easier for her,
wish she would share the wealth

I agree with wantnbbs, she has the checkbook and the resources that we don't have, so she may be in a better position to battle her case of PCOS. As other posters mentioned, a lot of cysters are thin, she's likely to be a thin cyster but is able to afford the professional laser treatments, home gym, nutritionist, personal trainer, etc. that the rest of us cannot.
As for how thin she is, it's possible she's overcompensating because of the microscope she and her family are constantly under due to the paparazzi and this culture of celebrity worship/vilification in general. Imagine how hideous the gossip rags would be if they got a shot of her acanthosis nigricans or hairy upper lip? Sure it would bring her out of the PCOS closet, but at what price to her self-esteem? It hurts to have random people point at us regular folks and say "Eww she has a moustache!" or "Doesn't she wash her neck?" Can you imagine what the media would say about her? They already trash her enough, she doesn't deserve more.

It's true that not all cysters are overweight, and definitely that she has the time, and reason (celebrity!) to stay ridiculously skinny. But, she said PCOS was the cause of her being skinny, which can't be true. PCOS doesn't necessarily have to make you overweight, but it can't make you skinny!

Actually, she did have fertility assistance. That's the only way she conceived, I believe. I read that awhile back. I'm not sure if it was IVF or otherwise, though. I think at least one was via IVF.
