Default One month of met - so far

Well ladies. I've been taking Fortamet 500 extended release once a day for about a month now. I think I'm getting used to it as far as my stomach goes. Though the nausea hits suddenly and without warning occasionally still. After initial fast weight loss of 5 lbs in a few days from diahrea, I have only lost 1 more pound this whole time, despite continuing the low carb diet and excercise that was working before. The endo also gave me a different BCP...(Zovia, generic demulen). I don't know if this is affecting things or what. So far I don't feel any less tired with the met. I was hoping it would help with energy, but maybe it will after more time has passed. I bought a few new spring clothes in a smaller size. Still this seems like so much work/pills for so little results. I want to be well NOW! I'm sure you all can relate

    Hangin' in there,

In 2006 I cycled approximately 1800miles, hiked up 4 mountains, took a walking tour of San Francisco, hiked in 4 california national parks, swam in a pool with palm trees on my birthday, hiked and biked along the Oregon Coast, climbed to numerous breathtaking waterfalls, explored a gold mine, a silver mine and a cinnabar mine, and walked a fantastic loop along frozen streams and icecicle waterfalls at Opal Creek in winter.

Yay...weight loss has resumed continuing the same diet and excercise program! I must be adjusting to the met and zovia finally. Whew....was worried there for a few weeks. Didn't know what else I could try.

    Smile yeah

I am glad that you are feeling better and are resuming the weight loss. I don't have a scale at home so I am going to have to see if the Met is working for me at my next Dr.Appt.

Hey, I think 20 pounds is GREAT! I am afraid to step on the scale these days for fear of having gained back much of what I've lost so far. So - way to go!

Thanks. I had lost 12 before I started the met, though, at about 1 lb a week. It is still averaging out to about that same pace. I don't think the met is helping with the weight loss, but oh well. :marchmell

Yes, but it's probably doing many other wonderful things that you won't know about until you get your hormone levels tested again.
