I wrote this in 96' 2 yrs after my brother passed... I was in a deep dpression...
One Persons Prayer
Now I lay me down to rest as I tell the lord that I have done my best. If I should die before I wake I pray the lord my pain to take. End my life and set me free. Release my body from this pain and misery. Cleanse my soul and erase my pain, PLEASE GOD HELP ME IM GOING INSANE. Show me love help me feel all the things that seem so unreal. No one cares no one understands. Blinded by love. Blinded by selfishness its all just a game. Never in my life have I felt like I belong. I guess I'll go to the grave and no one will care when I am gone...

I get inspired to write from time to time. I've written a few. Most recent one was inspired by the kids I work with. As soon as I find one that I wrote soon after 9/11 I'll post it to share. I also wrote one while I was at my cousin's funeral - I'll share that one, too.

Most of the time for me, it just comes - sometimes at the wierdest times.
The one I wrote at my cousin's funeral was THAT morning, when I was getting ready & waiting for our ride. The one I wrote soon after 9/11 was when I was at school! I have even started a few at night when I woke up to go to the bathroom.
I've learned to carry paper, index cards, etc (as well as something to write w/) at all times b/c I never know when I'll get inspired. Sometimes I will get a few ideas w/in several months, other times it could be a year or more...

This response is a tad late in the coming but I like the poem. Using the layout od a prayer that many people know helps give an extra punch. So sorry that you were in such a slump. Glad you're out of it!
As for creativity. I used to write ONLY when I was in class. You know when the teachers saying something that you really do need to know? Yeah that seems to be the best time for me to write
