Hello, Well some of you know how I was worried that I wasn't going to be able to come up with the money for my classes coming up in August for my Nurse's Aided class, well my prayer was answered today. I received my lost wages from my week today and it is enough to cover the class, I only have to add just a little extra to it, which is very little now and my dad is giving me the rest of the money. Please pray that I can pass this class, this is something I really want to do for myself and my future. Thanks for any prayers in Advance. Lori

Hallelujah! I'm glad things are starting to come around for you. We will still keep you in our prayers and know that God will come through for the both of you! There's no question about that Lori. The greatest thing you could do is keep walking through the trials and putting your trust in Jesus. It's when you let go, you feel the blessings as well as his undying love and presence.
I'm so glad to hear this!
God Bless you both!!

That's awesome that you will be able to take your class! My husband and I have finally started tithing faithfully. I know it says to "test" God regarding this issue, and trust me, we have lately. We are not good stewards of His money, and we have some really hard lessons to learn.
Well nursing school is out, I have decided instead to go into phlebotomy, I am waiting to see this week If i am going to be accepted into a program where they pay and train you at the same time, so please pray that this will come true.
Lori

May I ask why you changed your mind? I am a registered medical assistant, and have done phlebotomy for about 14 years now. Its rather stressing at times especially doing the frail elderly, or the tiny babies.
Hi Laural and others,
Laural you mentioned tithing. I have been wondering about this on and off for several years. How does one know where to give their money? We do not belong to a church but have faith in God. I don't necessarily believe in institutions. I welcome any input into tithing as I'm not very educated about it other than I believe it is a good thing.
Thanks!
Kelly
Tithing is an extremely important thing as everything we have anyways, is given from God to us. In all technicalities it is His. Anyways, Tithe should be given to the church one calls "HOME". A church that is attended regularly and not churches for which we visit, or several different churches. I'm sure many have their opinions, but a tithe is giving money to Gods House, a house of which one may attend. I'm not into legalistic stuff, so I can't tell you everything....but here's some info I got out of a book called, "Tithing: God's Financial Plan" by Norman Robertson.
Tithe is a covenant to set aside the tither, or ten percent of his income, for the work of the Lord. (pg 11 )
God wants you to prosper financially......... For many people today, the heavenly windows of Gods blessings are closed. Doubt, unbelief, skepticism, or perhaps lack of knowledge of Gods Word, have closed them. (pg 14)
You make a tithing declaration that you are subject to the economy of God and not to the world's economy. You declare with your mouth that depression, inflation, poverty, lack, and debt have no power over you!! For the Christian, Tithing isn't an option. (which I myself am starting to learn) (pg 18)
By giving to God, you actually honor Him with the first fruits of your increase. Exodus 23:19
I will stop there because there is so much that is revealed in this book. It's worthwhile to buy...it's very small and only costs a small donation....you can call them at 888-676-6733 and ask for the above named book. I bought mine at church.
While I didn't believe in the "institution" per say of the church I once attended, I began to pray and ask God where he wanted me to be.........and asked Him to help me find a church that spoke "HIS word" without all the politics. It took some time, but I found such a loving church...which became such a family...totally opposite from that of which I spent most of my life. Now that we have just moved to OHIO, we're looking for a new church, and though its hard, we have prayed and I believe that the Lord has once again led us to a church that not only we needed but who needs our ministries as well. What a blessing to walk in the door and have someone ask if she could pray with you (after we introduced ourselves and spoke a bit of course).
I wish you well in your future and am glad that you are searching righteousness by following God's Direction. Tithing can be hard sometimes, I know... We were going through financial stress like you wouldn't believe, were eating at soup kitchens getting our food from food pantries and still came up short to pay rent or other bills. To top it off, we are having a time ttc....we asked God for direction, dedicated our lives to Him and asked for help in better stewardship with both money and time. After six months of struggling, God answered by sending us to Ohio to become foster parents to teenagers who have been abused and neglected, gave us a beautiful brick cape cod with fireplaces and new appliances without paying rent or mortgage or utilities, answered our prayers with children, and has given us extra money to pay our debts and save.....to teach us stewardship so that our testimony will help others. This is what Tithing ...giving to God what is rightfully his...can do....we get blessed when we are faithful!!
I'm sorry to you and Lori because this is so long, but my experience with this is such a blessing I wanted to share it with others. Lori is extremely obediant and has struggled herself and I'm so thankful that she is seeing how faithful God is during such rough times.

I am still waiting to hear myself, personally I think it went well I am offering what they are looking for, someone who wants to learn and who wants long term employment and a career in phlebotomy, they told me I should know something by next week, but I am hoping I will hear sooner than that, they told me if I hadn't heard anything by the middle of next week to call and see what the status is, please pray I get this job I want it so badly.
