I'm sorry you're having a rough time. I was diagnosed young too, but didn't really understand what it was, you know? i didn't understand that PCOS was why i was hairy and fat and had no period. It steals your feminity which is why I believe it is one of the worst diseases for women that's not directly life threatening. It is very much possible to be depressed at 15. Counceling and writing in a journal could help. Know that it DOES get better. There will ALWAYS be ups and downs. But take the fact that you were diagnosed early as a gift, learn as much as you can about your condition and do what you can now so you won't be 30 and confused, you know? Here's a hug for you!

Being 15 isn't easy and PCOS doesn't help. I can remember having all kinds of issues with hormones/depression (and my plumbing) when I was a teen but the difference between you and I is that you were diagnosed young and I was, (after years of worry), diagnosed at 31! See it as a blessing, you have a chance to manage your health early.
When I get down I indulge myself in my hobbies to feel better, play with my kids, get out of the house and do something, anything, that takes my mind off feeling blue. A good novel works wonders too.
Feel better, I know it may not feel like you're lucky, but you really are.
It is normal to feel like you are on a rollercoaster of emotions, so to speak, when you're a teenager, and the PCOS confounds it. Our hormone levels are always out of whack, and to add puberty to that, well, it just makes life VERY interesting and difficult.
If at all possible, some counseling might help. Get your emotions sorted out and perhaps get a little guidance to help with the low points. Writing in a journal helps too.

I totally know what your going though. Hun, as all of us do! I'm turning 20 in 3 days and I've known now for 3 years that Ive had PCOS. Its really hard in its self, but when you add the problems of High School, dating, and just teen life it really gets you down. Hun, I totally know. Prom was the WORST for me! All the gowns I wanted had a low back and I have a small amount of back hair, BUT nothing that a little Nair and the help of one VERY loving mother cant handle. lol No one says our life is easy, BUT it gets a lot easier as you get older I think....As for dating, well believe me guys will date you. When its right, it is. lol I hate those sayings BUT sometimes they just fit. lol
If you want to chat or email me anytime feel free! My yahoo ID is lovestotalk29727 and thats my email also. Take care and keep your head up!
15 is certainly not too young to be depressed, like everyone has said being 15 is hard enough without having to worry about PCOS on top of that.
If you're feeling low, talk to someone, whether it by your mum, a friend, teacher, doctor. Don't keep these feelings to yourself, it can really help to talk about them.
I hope things get better for you soon!

bare in mind this is just my opinion!!...but i was the same way, and have been on antidepressants since 16 years old, i know drugs isnt always the best answer but it did help me and i wasnt crying all the time and dealing with the ups and downs....... talk with your doctor about everything your going through so he knows all that your dealing with!!!
good luck...brighter days ahead!

I understand completely where you are coming from Jess. At 15, i didnt know what was wrong with me but i was depressed and felt horrible in my own skin. Now however, i feel a lot better about my self, and my condition. You are amazing.
Since i found out i had PCOS I have been keeping a journal. It has helped me a lot in sorting out all of my emotions and thoughts. i went to a councelor but it just seemed weird, and i was very uncomfortable talking to her, but it could help you. the medicine helped me a whole bunch. But it is something to consider to help you get through this time. :]
Take care
im sorry your going through a bad time, my thoughts are with you, i was your age when i started getting symptoms of pcos ( lack of periods and depression), you are not alone, i totally understand, what you may need is a supplement to lift your mood, like an anti depressant, i hope you find the courage to go to your docs to find the help you need, keep smiling
Jess, you are not too young to be depressed, I was depressed most of my childhood, but there were no meds back then.
Like the others have said, it is hard enough being a teenager then add PCOS onto that and well, who wouldn't be depressed?
Just know that life does get better, all of your problems are most likely made worse by all of your hormonal changes. Depression, mood swings, PCOS, endometriosis, hypoglycemia all respond to hormones.
I hope you are working with a doctor to get these things under control. I wish you the best and you are lucky to be diagnosed so young. I was 32 when I was diagnosed.
I have a question for you, I have a daughter who is 10 and I think she will develop PCOS. What were your symptoms at age 10, if you don't mind my asking. I want to get her diagnosed as early as possible so she doesn't have to suffer as much as I have.
Have a great Sunday, and remember those kids you go to school with now will be but a memory in a few years!

Thanks Jess, my dd has not started her period yet. I hope that waits until at least 13. No rapid weight gain either. She does have the start of a mustache and lots of hair in other places, kwim? Thank you for your kindness, if she needs to "talk" to someone more her age about PCOS, I know she can come here and talk to you.
