Default Only one ovary and PCOS

I was diagnosed with PCOS last October, although I have had some mild symptoms for a while. A year and a half ago, though, I had an ovary removed because it had a really large dermoid in it.

Can the removal of one ovary cause things to be uneven, hormonal wise? I had hair loss after the ovary removal, but it stopped for a bit. Now it's come back. Does anyone have any thoughts or ideas how the removal of one ovary may have screwed things up?
