I'm supposed to get the CD3 bloodwork done. I'm really confused about where to go for it - a hospital? a clinic?
Same question about my glucose tolerance tests.
I live in St Catharines, if that helps.
I could just phone a nurse at my clinic, but it can take forever to get through, so I'd appreciate any help in advance!

Hopefully someone from St. Catharines will answer your question but in London I always go to the Gamma-Dynacare Medical Labratories. I'm going to do a google search as I'm pretty sure that's what they are called all over Ontario (but could be mistaken). HTH.

Apparently there is 1 in Niagara Falls, 2 in Hamilton, and 1 in Burlington. There must be somewhere in St. Catharines but perhaps it has a different name there. Sorry I wasn't more help.

Okay, you need a requisition from a doctor or nurse practitioner to get bloodwork done. I like the lab at Lake and Lakeshore (behind the plaza) because parking is free, but the one at the Vine Street clinic is good too. Paid parking, though.
My GTT for Annika was done at the MDS lab on Schmon Parkway in Thorold because they are open until noon on Saturdays. Make sure they know that you are there for a 3 hour GTT. They will put you at the head of the line. You can also get the GTT done at Lake and Lakeshore.
Make sure you ask your doctor if he/she has a preference. But generally the ones I've listed are the best in town.
If you ever have any questions about St. Catharines, go ahead and PM me. I'm not always in this forum, but I am on SC pretty much every weekday.

Thanks to all!
I went to Lifelinks, across from the St Catharines hospital. They were good. I'm relieved to finally get the GTT done, since no doctor in Manitoba would let me do it, and they wouldn't tell me why not. I don't think I am IR, but with a family history of diabetes and blood sugar issues, I want to know for sure!

Thanks! So far, I'm much happier with the care I'm receiving in Hamilton than I was with my clinic in Winnipeg.
