Hi I was wondering if anyone knows if Ontario health Insurance Covers a breast reduction my shoulders and back hurt constantly and I was thinking maybe its time to look at my options....well if anyone haas any thoughts thanks

I know friends that have had breast reductions because of pain and it was covered under OHIP but since the government implented fees & cut back medical coverage I wouldn't be surprised if it was no longer covered.
I am currently contemplating seeing my doctor about this as well.
What services does OHIP cover?
OHIP covers a wide range of health services; however, it does not pay for services that are not medically necessary, such as cosmetic surgery. A brief description of insured services follows below. For more details, please contact your nearest ministry office.
I have a friend that just went for a consulatation with a surgeon. What they do is submit a report to OHIP, and then OHIP decided if the surgery is covered.
