Hi! I just wanted to share my experience about my surgery. Yesterday in the morning I woke up at 5am and the doc had given me 2 misoprostol tablets to be inserted vaginally to help the cervix dilate. It just felt like very mild period cramps. We went to the hospital at 8am checked in. Then the nurse came in shortly and started the IV. My veins on my hands are very small but the nurse did a good job putting it in. That was the most thing I was worried about but it wasn't so bad. My dh was there with me the whole time holding my hand.
Then the doc came in to see how I was doing and told her I was nervous and she told me not to worry everything will be fine. Then there was more waiting, more nurses checking things (paperwork and questions) and finally at 10ish they wheeled me into the OR. Gave me the anesthesia. All I remember is that they asked me to move over to the other table and then I was out. I woke up in phase 1 recovery and the first people I see are my dh, doc and nurse. I asked what time it was and everyone laughed. It was 11:15. Slowly I came out of it, then moved to phase 2 where they gave me juice and crackers. I had to go to the bathroom to urinate and I swear my dh said that i peed out half a liter! It was pretty funny

I was there for a little while longer and once i felt fine we were given instructions on what and what not to do and then we were discharged. Once I was in the car I got emotional and started crying. I guess it was just a feeling of relief that everything was ok.
Came home and the cramps were pretty bad, they felt fine after I urinated. I slept on and off all day. Took lots of meds. Ate light foods and clear fluids. At night I took some medicine with codine and I was out like a light plus I was super tired. Today I woke up at 10am and I feel fine. No cramps or anything just still a bit tired and HUNGRY!
I still have a balloon in my uterus. It is filled with water and it is to prevent any adhesions. It will be removed on monday morning. It is not uncomfortable. There are 2 tubes hanging out but no problems peeing, walking, sitting or laying down. I can do normal activities but nothing too strenuous. The doc said that there were some adhesions on my left side were really calcified and she had a very hard time removing them. For a while she thought that she might have to do a laprascopy but in the end she didn't need to. She found both the right and left fallopian tube openings. She gave us pictures but they are a bit hard to figure out. She will explain more when we see her on monday.
I hope that my experience helps someone out there.

Bye
