Dear Oprah, I was wondering if you could do a show on PCOS. It's one of the leading causes of infertility in women, and also the most misdiagnosed. It's most recognised by the infertility aspect, but it also causes weight gain, hair loss, skin tags and a lot of other unbelievably unattractive things to happen in women. I know first hand. Dear Oprah, I am one of the many young women who suffer from polycystic ovarian syndrome or PCOS. It is one of the leading causes of infertility in women and causes many other unsightly symptoms. Not only do we have symptoms that take away our femininity but we also face that hardship of trying to conceive a child when everything is stacked against us. If we are lucky enough to get pregnant, we have one of the highest rates of miscarriage. This syndrome is not well known in the public and is often misdiagnosed. After watching your show for many years, I am thankful for all that you have done for the world and women especially. I am hopeful that you can get the word out about PCOS and other issues that cause infertility. It is most difficult to live in a world where people do not understand why I am not pregnant yet. People do not have the knowledge to deal with loved one or friends who are having fertility issues and I am praying that we can bring them that knowledge. 2 MONTHS OLD--BAD REACTION TO SHOTS...11 LBS (25th) AND 21.5 INCHES LONG (50th)
4 MONTHS--SHOT REACTION MUCH BETTER...14.3 LBS (65TH) AND 23.25 INCHES LONG (15TH)
6 MONTHS--16.25 LBS (65TH) AND 26 INCHES LONG (50TH)
Good luck. I have written to her twice and I know many other women on this board have also written to her. She's onviously not interested. Or her producers aren't anyway.
Thank you for the link. I emailed as well. As far as many attempts being made, and she hasn't done it so far...... if first you don't suceed try, try again! IMO whether or not Oprah does a show on it, someone is at least reading our emails and therefore we are getting the word out.

Clomid 100mg - May 5-9 BUST NO O
Clomid 150mg - May 29-June 2 O'd LATE CD33 Missed it.
Started injections July 13th (Menopur) IUI #1 7/27 IUI #2 7/28 AF showed up 8/10.
8/16 forced break, cysts formed.

Well, I'm willing to throw my 2 cents at her...here's what I wrote...
Oprah,
I am a 25 year old female, who has no siblings, and lost my mother to breast cancer in 2002. I have been diagnosed with PCOS (Polycystic Ovaries) and it will take a miracle to bring a baby into this world. I find myself becoming so depressed, and feeling so lonely. I also have a lot of the common side effects of PCOS, mostly masculinizing traits, which are really hard to cope with. It leaves me feeling like a freak most of the time. There are so many other women out there that have this, and the doctors don't catch it, because there's no ONE test to diagnose it. PLEASE consider doing a show on PCOS, so that others who are feeling alienated by this horrible condition can know that they are not alone!
