Points: 263.00 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 263.00 | oral contraceptives and sex drive Howdy, new here, my history is that I started having symptoms about 3-4 years ago, but when they completed an ultra sound they told me I did not have PCOS. But the symptoms kept getting worse, so I went to an endo recently, and she is saying that I probably do have it.
So, my question is in regards to taking birth control pills. 3-4 years ago, my doctor put me on them, and it really helped with my symptoms, especially the excess hair, however the unfortunate side effect was that my sex drive was non existant! I didn't even want to THINK about sex, that's how bad it was. So I stopped taking the birth control, and since then sex has been great (we use other methods of birth control). Well, now that it looks like this is what I have, I am really really REALLY sad that if I want to take medication, my sex drive will go away again!
Has anyone experienced this too? And what about anti-androgen treatments, will I get the same side effect?
Thanks!

You might want to talk to the dr about your hormone levels. Adding progesterone is what helped me. I can't take the pill, I am using Met for my symptoms. BCP and I don't agree.
