My Mood: Points: 6,602.27 Bank: 1,485.95 Total Points: 8,088.22 | Oral Glucose Tolerance Test-HELP! I went to my endo today. Last Friday I had my levels drawn for PCOS and thyroid. Those results were fine except for an elevated testosterone (mildly he says) at 75.
He then said my glucose was 100. This was a fasting level last week.
He made me do the 3 hour oral glucose tolerance test today, ugh!
At the first interval (pre-oral glucose) the reading was 107.
At the second interval (post-oral glucose) the reading was 166.
At the third interval, the reading was still 166.
At the final interval, the reading was 108.
For those who have diabetes or who have had the test done, what do you think these results mean?????
I spoke with a nurse and she said they were normal. That second draw when it was still elevated at 166 puzzles me. Help!

I did the 2 hr gtt and at the 1 1/2 hr mark, mine was at 265. 265 isn't that high, but was high enough for me to be dx as type 2. Don't be concerned, but watch what you eat so you won't become type 2. If I had watched myself and what I ate, I could've prevented my type 2. Good luck.

So he has put me on phentermine. I start tomorrow. I am hoping this helps with the weight and to regulate my diet.

Anything over 200 would be absolutely totally a diabetic number, but you were quite a bit under that. But if your body were working right that number would have been under 140 by the one hour point and under 120 at the two hour mark.
Ask your doctor for a referral to a dietician so that you can really sit down and come up with a diet that works for you, with the foods that you like, that will help you keep this from getting any further than it is.
