For me personally, juice is THE WORST. I had some at night with an egg and woke up in the middle of the night with a hypoglycemic attack. I think chocolate is better because the fat slows down the sugar. Look on the internet for glycemic index and read about it. It will help you.
If you eat something with it, maybe it will be okay for you...

Personally I think it depends on the person. There are times that I am feeling really sluggish and I can tell that my blood suger is getting low so I have a glass of orange juice and it picks me right up. I think that it is better than chocolate because I think it last longer.
I drink pure orange juice that I make myself.. no added sugar etc..

I only drink it because I enjoy the taste, I can't say I use it when I need to boost my sugars (they're usually too high) so I guess I shouldn't drink it anymore.
I could be wrong, but my understanding is that if you spike your blood sugar quickly, it also lowers more quickly because there is no protein, fiber, or fat to slow it down.

I drink OJ in the mornings alone and it doesn't bother me, but if you have major blood sugar issues, it's not advisable. From what I have read, fruit is best consumed whole, fresh and alone (no meat, fat, bread, dairy, etc.) OTOH protein balances out how rapidly your blood sugar spikes. When diabetic patients get seriously low blood sugar they are often given by nurses OJ.
The last time I had a small glass of OJ, I spent the next 36 hours in the bathroom with horrible diarrhea. It would have continued, but I finally broke down and took Imodium AD.

I will only have freshly squeezed orange juice. I noticed someone said that orange juice has just as much sugar as soda. Are you aware that the sugar in freshly squeezed orange juice is fructose, not sucrose, and is a better sugar to have?
