Default Ortho tri cyclen lo

Just an update here on ortho tri cyclen lo. I wanted to share my experiences here since so many of us are trying different pills and it can be helpful to hear what others are doing.

Before I begin I want to say I have been dealing with this PCOS for 20 years and have never had a problem taking tri cyclic bc pills. I know they are not always recommended for PCOS but my dr. and my experience has been favorable. The recommendation of no cyclic bcp is not a strict one according to her, once again it is variable.

I have used ortho cyclen for years and it worked very well for me at controlling my raging acne (not cystic) and unwanted hair. It also worked very well on cycle control. As I have aged and newer pills became available I wanted to use something lower in estrogen that would not affect my symptoms. SOooooo, I am trying ortho tri cyclen lo. I have experienced the same acne and hair benefit. It has taken 3 months to get everything worked out there though. I was on desogen and was having skin and other problems, I do not do well on heavy progestin pills. It has not affected my weight and I do not have so many estrogen side effects such as pms and menstrual migraines. My cycle is lighter (probably the lesser estrogen) I did spot on month one but haven't since. My libido is up, a definate plus! I have taken so many pills and am very happy with this after 3 months.

Just wanted to share in case anyone else is looking at different pills.

Best Wishes!
Chris

Thanks so much for sharing!! I am on that bcp hunt. I 'm on yasmin, but its way too tiring, so I need to switch. I guess I'll be trying the ortho tri cyclen lo. Does anyone else know if tricyclic bcp are okay and do they shut down the ovaries and cysts??
