I talked to my Gyn about the right BC pill for the PCOS and was given orthro-tri lo, even though I thougt we cysters needed higher estrogen. Anyone else taking this...and what do you all know about it's ability to reduce symptoms?

PCOSers usually do better on monophasic pills, and we usually have unbalanced or excess estrogen to begin with due to nonovulation. Personally the Ortho Tri Cyclen regular caused me to get fat, acne, and crazy. Monophasics like Desogen only caused me to be crazy rather than all 3. Now they have lower estrogen pills like YAZ & Loestrin24 that probably cause less of the fat & bloating. Both have 24 "real" pills per month instead of 21, supposedly shorter AF. YAZ is Yasmin with about half the estrogen, same progestin dresiponine or however it's spelled.

I'm on Tri-Cyclen*Lo right now, and even though I've been skimping on my acne routine (I'm recovering from surgery), I've alread noticed a difference in my skin.
I've also noticed my body's shape is changing, though some of this may have to do with weight-loss, as well as the hormones.
I'm liking them...and the vain part of me is liking the colour of the pills..though they're so frickin' tiny..

I've decided to stop taking Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo because I'm starting to think that these pills are screwing with my system, I'm have huge moodswings and thoughts of Suicide and it's starting to scare me so next time I go to the gyno I'm discussing with her what it's putting my body through.

I was taking yasmin and had no probs well just tender breast and my boobs grew too but thats is noooo prob for me . but since I couldnt afford them they were $45 my dr put me on tri-nessa 28 its a substitute for ortho-try cyceln, I was on ortho b4 but I felt really weird on it so I stopped I only took it for a couple of days so now im worried about taking this one dont wanna feel the same way I hope everything turns out fine
