Default To other Christians who need TTC encouragement, here is my (long) story.

I am hoping that my story will be an encouragement to all you believers that are having trouble believing. I always felt that I would have trouble TTC. Then when my DH and I decided to start trying after a year of marriage, my fears were confirmed. It took 14 months of desperate prayers to get pg (granted many take much longer, but any length of time feels like an eternity when you are aching for a child). Two summers ago, we were at a family camp when I felt the desperation at it's height. All this time I had been praying and pleading and angry at the Lord. WHY? (I am sure you can relate) Why, God, when you know how much I would love and take care of that child? Why when you give children to others who abuse them or don't want them and heartlessly discard them, or to some that are still children themselves? And the questioning goes on. Very few in my DH's and my life knew our struggle except some close friends and family. Anyway, I had heard about a godly couple that prayed for people and that really heard from the Lord. SO I went and asked them for general prayer, not really sharing what I was really after -which was confirmation that the Lord had heard our plea. During the prayer, I begged the Holy Spirit to tell them my hearts desire and sure enough, right after I started begging, the man said "Lord I pray that you bless the fruit of Beckee's womb as her and Josh multiply." HE HAD HEARD MY PRAYER! I was so excited that God was listening! That was all I needed to know, then I could trust that the rest was in His Hands. Well, to finish up the story as quickly as possible, I shared with them why I was suddenly crying and then they were excited and started crying and then later approached me and said that they really felt that God had told them that he had something planned for us the next summer, that they thought it was a pregnancy, but they weren't sure, but also that God told them to tell me "not to worry anymore, that He had heard my prayer and to praise Him everyday because He was taking care of it !". So, as difficult as that was, to simply trust, He answered and 2 months later we conceived. He had planned it ahead of time. The prayer people were told 2 months ahead of time that there was something planned for us next summer. We were not pg then. However, next year at that same camp (this summer) we brought out our 2 1/2 week old daughter Emma for them to meet her. She is almost 5 months old now, and I thank God for her everyday. Now my prayer is that He will help her to sleep at nights since she wakes up every hour wanting to breastfeed.lol. I hope this is an encouragement to those of you who wonder if He has really heard you. He has. Don't give up. I am not sure what His plans for you are, but He loves you and does have one. His timing is not usually ours. I will be praying for you. Take care and may Christ richly bless you.

Beckee,

Thank you for sharing your journey in faith and conception. DH & I pray constantly and wonder if we are heard by the Lord Jesus. It hurts so much some days. The mind and the heart are often at odds when it comes to the matter of conceiving a child. I pray that like you and your husband we may find the peace in knowing our prayers are heard and the patience to know though they may be answered, they will be answered in his time not ours.

Your Sister in Christ,
Cheryl

Cheryl, I will keep you in my thoughts and pray for you until the 16th (your big day!) Until then, (and after), please take care of yourself. You are in my thoughts (and most importantly God's) and my prayers. Please keep me posted!

your sister in Christ,

Beckee,
I really am glad you posted that. I needed to hear something encouraging! My dh and I have been ttc#2 for several years. (Our daughter is 11) This week it has become overwhelming, to say the least. The discouragement was doubled when my brother and his wife found out this week they are expecting their #2. They found out they were going to have their first one right after we started trying. She is 3 now.
I know God has a plan for us, and it may or may not involve more children. Sometimes I have feared that we are being punished for conceiving our daughter before we were married. But, I know all that is forgiven, and He doesn't work like that. It's just hard sometimes. You know how the mind works!!
Anyway, thanks again for that encouragement. I am so happy for you.
Your sister in Christ,
tamsmom

Thank you for your post. When I first started ttc, I did not have a relationship with God. I am now attending and in the process of joining an interdenominational church. I totally believe that my dh and I will have a child. The waiting is the hardest part. Every negative report we get is like a knife in my heart. I know you understand what I am talking about. It really helps to hear your story.

Thanks
Liz

Tamsmom and Liz, I just want you both to know that I have included you both daily in my prayers for Cheryl and all your godly desires to have a child. I know that prayer is powerful, so it is the least I can do. I wish that I could do more........Keep trusting.

beckee,
Thank you for the prayers, it is really a comfort to know there are other christian women out there praying for you.
Prayer is a powerful thing! I think it not only blesses the people being prayed for, but it can be such a blessing to the one who is doing the praying! I know I feel so much closer to the Lord when I spend time in prayer. Thank you again for the prayers my way, and I thank God for your willingness to share your story, and your compassion.

Liz and Cheryl, I'll be praying for you too.

Mandy

Hi Beckee, Mandy, Liz & Helen,

Thank you for including us in your prayers. They are powerful! The lord has other plans for me right now and I'm going to follow his lead. DH & I received a negative result yesterday. We are numb, but I have faith that our prayers will be answered in God's own way and time. I pray that you all are daily lifted up the love of the lord surrounds you.

With heartfelt blessings,
Cheryl

Cheryl,
I am so very sorry about your results. It will happen, like you said, in God's time. It's just hard when his time isn't our time!
Praying peace and comfort for you and your husband,
Mandy
