I am frightened that my PCOS might even be a misdiagnoses for something else. I kind of have a feeling that I could have Cushings because I am a sufferer of Asthma who has been of Prednisone(a corti-steroid) for a good while. PCOS does run in my family... so I would not rule it out, I probably do have it as well. I don't know anymore though... |

Points: 128.18 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 128.18 | Progesterone Deficiency AND Estrogen Deficiency Hi all. Very new here...first time. I'm not sure if I'm doing it right or not, but I'll throw my question out there and hope that someone could give me some insight. I've been dealing with the typical PCOS symptoms since puberty. Always got the runaround with the docs who always wanted to put me on the pill to regulate me. I wanted to know WHY I had these problems. I was on and off different pills and meds for years. Finally, I was desperate for help and I had to lie to a reproductive endocrinologist telling her that I was ready to conceive because that was the only way to get her to treat me. She only cares about getting women pregnant and not really caring about helping women like me with all of these terrible hormonal inconsistencies. So, in the meantime I was ordered all kinds of tests in which my progesterone was lower than a post-menopausal person. I was only 34 at the time!! To make a long story short, she did a procedure (hysteroscopy?) and found major endometriosis, polyps galore and she drilled holes in my ovaries to help stimulate ovulation. ANYWAY, I was happy to have the surgery even though I had to lie because I knew something wasn't right. My periods were regular for the FIRST time in my life, no joking. I had them regular for about 16 months or so and now in the last 4 months they've been consistently 2 weeks late. The more research I do the more confused I get. I have been on natural bio-identical progesterone cream to get my levels up although I don't think it is working as well as I would like. My question is this...can someone be extremely progesterone deficient (mind you, I have no thyroid issues) and estrogen deficiency. Usually you hear when a woman is progesterone deficient that they are automatically considered estrogen dominant. I'm thinking that I may have both deficiencies. Any suggestions about that? I hope I wasn't too cryptic and scattered but it is such a long story and I just wanted to address the immeidate situation. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. At this point, I have sworn off medical doctors and am going more alternative. Right now, the only thing I'm taking for the hormone issue is the prog. cream. Thanks!! |

sorry so long when i found this i just about screamed because finally people who have experienced wut i am.. oh how i love this website |
