Points: 153.00 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 153.00 | other options besides BC Hi! I was diagnosed with PCOS 5 years ago. I took Clomid and became pg. Two years later I was pg again. For two years following my cycles were pretty regular. Now my periods are fewer and farther between and I have been having ab. pain. I go for an ultra sound in 2 weeks. What can I do besides take bcp? There is a history of heart attacks and strokes with my parents and they make me so moody. I really can't take them. Anu thought would be great!
Thanks,
Paula |

I have had a harder time since my DD was born as well. My Dr said the only other thing I could try is birth control. He did recommend a low carb diet and I've been on that for over a month. I've lost 20lbs on the South Beach diet and some of my symptoms are improving, slowly but atleast an improvement. As for BCP I was given the Nuvaring. I haven't used it yet because I don't want to go back on hormones.

Now as for if I follow all of his recommendations...well, I try to! It's hard for me to low carb a lot, but I do try to cut back on them. I'm pretty active and very faithful with my metformin. Good luck to you!

I take Vitex and Red Clover Blossoms to regulate my hormones and they seemed to help right away. I also take Saw Palmetto, B-complex, CoEzQ10, and Greet Tea Extract. |
