Default other options besides BC

Hi! I was diagnosed with PCOS 5 years ago. I took Clomid and became pg. Two years later I was pg again. For two years following my cycles were pretty regular. Now my periods are fewer and farther between and I have been having ab. pain. I go for an ultra sound in 2 weeks. What can I do besides take bcp? There is a history of heart attacks and strokes with my parents and they make me so moody. I really can't take them. Anu thought would be great!

Thanks,
Paula

My gyno prescribes GlucaphageXR for my PCOS. I'm also diabetic but he said he fully believes gluc helps his PCOS patients. I have had a harder time since my DD was born as well. My Dr said the only other thing I could try is birth control. He did recommend a low carb diet and I've been on that for over a month. I've lost 20lbs on the South Beach diet and some of my symptoms are improving, slowly but atleast an improvement. As for BCP I was given the Nuvaring. I haven't used it yet because I don't want to go back on hormones.

Lori suggested the exact thing my doc recommends. Low carb diet, regular "moderate" exercise and metformin/glucophage. Now as for if I follow all of his recommendations...well, I try to! It's hard for me to low carb a lot, but I do try to cut back on them. I'm pretty active and very faithful with my metformin. Good luck to you!

Default I'm going the natural route

with herbs and suppliments. I am not TTC, but I still didn't want BCP.
I take Vitex and Red Clover Blossoms to regulate my hormones and they seemed to help right away. I also take Saw Palmetto, B-complex, CoEzQ10, and Greet Tea Extract.
