Default Ottawa...

For those of you who are in Ottawa and TTC (I am not TTC)...I noticed a new sign on Prince of Wales Drive the other day - "Ottawa Fertility Clinic". I don't know if this is a new clinic, or just a new sign. Of course I cannot recommend this place because I've never been there, but, just fyi for those who are TTC. It is on Prince of Wales Drive just near Baseline Road (just a little north of Baseline Road on Prince of Wales Drive).

I don't mean to be a downer on this thread . . but just some info . . . the endos who work here now . . that used to deal with fertility patients and with patients with PCOS but no ttc (like me) . . now only deal with the fertility patients. And they failed to call those of us who no longer fall under that category . . .

And I for one am glad about this! I had nothing but troubles with my doc there, from him telling me to get married, telling me to stop eating poutine without ever having weighed me, refusing to do a pap even though I hadn't had one in over two years... ugh. I'd rather have no doctor at all than see that horrid man again.

My doctor was like that too . . . she was always harping me about my weight . .rarely had a good suggestion for me to try, and refused to listen to why I thought WLS was an option.

She was a size 2 . max. It just really bothered me. So as much as I am angry that she didn't tell us to find a new doctor, I am glad that I can look for a nice, more compassionate one.

The clinic opened last March and is run by doctors who were formally running the fertility clinic at the Parkdale Clinic at the Civic Hospital. If you want PCOS help you can still be referred to endo-not a reproductive endo at the civic campus or at the general.

I had all 3 of my children as a patient of Dr.Leader who started the new clinic and I have nothing but the utmost respect for him and his collegues.

I agree completely! I had Dr. Leader when I lived in Ottawa and he is the best RE I ever had. He listened to my concerns, followed some of my own suggestions for treatment. I had 2 losses though, but he helped me to GET pregnant. I wish I could find a doctor here as good as him
