Hi there who ever is reading this, well this is going to be a long one!(Sorry!) When I hit purberty at age 11 I was the proud owner of a heavy, very painful period but regular! And with that came the acne, and strangly enough hair loss (on head) and my arm hair darkening to the point that my Mom thought I had shaved it! Now we'll skip to high school, acne followed me right through with every cure under the sun!But not birth control... that I went on for sexual purposes. Which at that time i thought i might have been prego but my doc said not and stuck me on it, after which i think i miscarried! he did and altra sound but I was never told the out come, and at 17 you really don't distrust your doc right!? things seemed great after though, the acne started to clear! The hair started to slow down falling out! but now we skip again to when i got off the birth control, my boy friend and I decided to get married so thought if and oops happened what would be the difference?! Ya well the oops that happened was not the one we had hopped on! I blew up from 155lbs to 260lbs in under a year, hair started appearing on my chin and the acne came back with a vengince! for 3 years I suffered tests for everything related to weight gain, and the out come was always that I was lazy!So I accepted that...untill my husband and I decided to really start having children, needless to say it wasn't happening! So we both got tested! It was then that the breaks were put on and my Doc sent me to a gyno for she was stumped cause I had always and still to this day have a regular period, he did his hormone test and found I had enough testostorne in my system to be a man! So with out actually telling me what was wrong he put me on met and 3 month later on a stronger birth control (for 1 month to kick start the progesterone again) about 6 months later we had our daughter!and 2 years later we had our 2nd daughter! But now we are back at square 1 we have been trying since april 2007 to have a 3rd but with no result, I was taking 1000mg a day in the past and now i'm up to 2000mg a day, this being the bright idea of my family doc ......even though she doesn't know anything about PCOS! the gyno I was seeing has been retired for 3 years now! I need help! I need to find a speciallist or doctor who knows about PCOS! And who can help me! If we never have another kid that is ok! I thank the lord for the 2 I have and count myself very luck! But I want a Doc who also knows how to treat me long term! And It would be nice just to chat with ppl from Ontario!

Sorry that your post got lost in the shuffle.
There seems to be many of you in the Ottawa area looking for a good doctor.
Just as I posted in another post...
There is this get together post. It's made up of many cysters from the Ottawa area that get together from time to time, they might be able to suggest a good doctor for you as well give you the opportunity to speak to others from your area.
There is also this Ottawa area doctor post with suggestions for area doctors. Like I said above, there appears to be many of you with the similar issues.
Although this post is quite long with recommended doctors from coast to coast, it can also be a good place start. I know may cysters around here post their doctors when they are happy with them.
If you find a doctor that you might be considering, there are also websites like this one where if you have the name of a doctor, you can read reviews. Just like anything on the internet though, make sure you take everything with a grain of salt.
