Default Ouch!!!!

Has anyone else encountered one of these? I have a huge cyst-like zit or boil or something on my outter vagina (the part the rubs against my undies). It hurts like the devil! I've been putting hot compresses on it and some anti-bacterial oitment, and the swelling seems to have gone down. It came on all of a sudden, it was strange. I get cyst-like zits on my face all the time, but nothing this painful or this big!

Hi
I get those too, but I get them where the hair grows..is that where yours is? I wonder if they are ingrown hairs??? I dont do much about, I just bide my time. But I think you have the right idea about putting warm compresses on it. Maybe I'll try that next time. Next time you go to your gyno, why not ask about it? And if you do, let us know so we all know what to do in the future.

Hi

Yeah I get those too! I thought there was something really wrong with me at first. I tried to pop it and oh my gosh what pain!!! They eventually pop at least in my case. Then I have like an empty sack. It's very strange. I'm sure why I get them. I wash like a crzay women thinking that will help but nothing prevents them. I have noticed however that I get them around the time I'm supposed to get AF, so it's probably hormonal.

Oh Gosh, I get them all the time!

I get them right where my panties sit (I guess the rubbing does it).

I never tried the warm compresses...gotta try that with the next one...

Default Me too !!!!!

I get those all the time and they drive me crazy. I'm so glad this got posted. I was so worried about mine I had my doc check and see if there was anything really wrong down there like an std.
he said it's just an ingrown hair.

Default R U IR?

I used to get them until I was put on Met. I found out from reading many posts here that it is common with people with Insulin Resistance or Diabetes to get "boils" in areas that they shouldn't be. Can be under the arm, but mostly I used to get them on my inner thighs. DH has just been diagonosed as diabetic and he isn't watching his sugar leves, thus he has them now, actually two of them. I suggest doing a search on SC, type in "Boils" and see what you can find.

In all, hot compress is the best for me, once it decides to "Pop" then I feel much more comfortable and it starts to heal (though it leaves a bruise there for a long time that eventually goes away).

Good Luck,
Lana

Hey guys! I randomly read this post a few days ago, and although I don't have this particular problem, I felt bad for you all! Then today I was reading this book on PCOS that I just got, and I read this:

"Hidradenitis suppurativa is severe chronic inflammation of the apocrine glands of the armpit (axilla) and groin region. Mild cases of hidradenitis are relatively common and appear much like several small "boils" that are reddened, hardened, and contain pus. They may appear much like an infected hair follicle, which in reality is close to the truth. Applications of warm wet compresses can offer some relief. Because this disorder is hormone-related, oral contraceptives and anti-androgens may be used with some success. The severe infections, which sometimes occur, are very difficult to treat and surgical excision may be necessary." (pg. 113, PCOS: The Hidden Epidemic)

Does this sound like what you guys are going through? Maybe your hormone levels are a bit whacky? Hmmm...well, hope that helps. Ouch indeed!

Default Hidradenitis Suppurativa

I ge those too, and my doctor confirms that it is Hidradenitis Suppurativa. I have been checking out other websites and some people recommend Boil-Eze or Arnica to relieve the pain. I take metformin, and they don't seem to have lessened since I started taking it, but I do notice they don't occur as much when I am exercising regularly. They are very painful. If anyone else has other remedies, let me know.
Here's some websites I have found on it:
http://www.boilover.net/about_general.shtml
http://www.hs-usa.org/hidradenitis_suppurativa.htm
http://www.emedicine.com/emerg/topic259.htm

OMG I get these too!! I've been getting them since I was a teenager. When I was younger I was convinced I had some kind of strange STD! But, thankfully I don't.
I get them in the same place, right on the panty line. Mine end up pretty painful, they break open and hurt like crazy. I went to the doc and he said it was a normal thing for women, some kind of cyst. I never thought the PCOS was the culprit! I've been blaming my underwear! Anyway, I had one removed, it was a simple procedure in his office, the lidocaine shots hurt the worst. Then I got another one in the same spot! Had that one removed too. Now I have this pit scar. The doc said the scar will only be noticible if I switch careers, I said What it will affect my tips as a stripper, or I won't get the part I've been hoping for in the latest porn??
:p
Thankfully DH is the only one who sees it. Sometimes it feels like it is coming back and when I can tell I go comando for a couple days and it seems to help. I think the panty rubbing really irritates it.

I think I have had what you are describing also. I was so scared, I thought it was a tumor. However after doing more investigating I realized it was filled with fluid, and that is how i got rid of mine. Slowly applying pressure to it to release the fluid, don't know where the fluid went inside me but that is what got rid of it. They DO hurt.

Yes I have those too!!! For years and they leave horrible scars in their wake. But someone told me to look for info under cystic acne and there might be some new information about it. Take a look . I wish there was a cure for them !!!

Since being on Metformin I don't get them at all.
Plus, when I started getting them a while back, I bought anti-bacterial soap, and don't know if it was conincidence or not but the soap seemed to help....

Default Me too!

The first one I got was when I was 7 mos. pregnant with my 2nd son. It went from the size of a marble to the size of a golf ball within 2 days! It was right where my undies rub between my thigh and pubis. I thought it was pregnancy related so I went to the OB and they had to drain it. It was so painful!! At the time I hadn't been diagnosed with PCOS yet but the symptoms were coming on like crazy! The OB also said ingrown hair but the nurse disagreed with him because I didn't shave that area so she thought it was probably something else.
Anyways, I just got another one the other day but...I'm almost too embarrassed to say this but it was on my labia! How embarrassing and painful. I had to drain it myself (not doing to the Dr. for that one) and it went away immediately. I was terrified though that it was a tumor or something at first. Who ever heard of getting a cyst on your genitial! Sheesh..thank you PCOS and IR...ick!

I get these too. What helps me when I have one is covering it up with a band-aid. It helps when you have the band-aid on because your underwear does not rub on it. I also will use hot compresses to help it pop. It is so discusting. I had two golfball size ones when I was pregnant. They hurt so bad. They have left ugly scars on the inside of my legs.
