I went to the drs today for my 10wk check. And I layed down for the u/s and there was the baby was so excited but they wanted to check the h/b and there was nothing. So there doing a d & c on friday. I have no spotting and no cramping. I saw the baby at 8w5d and h/b was beating great. Dont understand what happen there gonna take samples from the baby and see if they can find out something. Is there bleeding after the d & c? Anything I should expect? I have no feeling and just so dead inside. Thanks ladies. And my thoughts and prayers are with you.
I am so sorry...
yes..there is bleeding and cramping after the D&C..like a very, very heavy AF..
again.. I am very sorry for your loss.(((((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))))
I am so sorry for your loss.((((((( hugs)))))))).
I've had a D&C, I had rather heavy bleeding and cramps. I also got really sick from the anesthesia, but i noticed everyone takes it differently, other woman getting it done that day just got up and left after 1/2 hour. i stayed for 5 hours from feeling weak and the cramps. the bleeding for me seemed to stop after 2-3 days. the cramping was there for a few days. a hot water bottle or heating pad seemed to help. I dont want to scare you with my experience , at least you know you may feel ok and leave recovery quickly or stay longer.
I'm so very sorry for your loss -- my m/c was very similar. Absolutely no inkling something was wrong, but at my 10.5 week checkup there was no heartbeat, and the baby was measuring 3 weeks smaller.
My D&C was pretty uneventful -- woke up in recovery, I had one BIG cramp and the nurse gave me a shot of something. That was pretty much the last cramp I had, and my bleeding, although it went on for a couple of weeks, was always normal to light. I think I went to panty-liners after a few days, it just was always a little something for about two weeks. I only took a total of four advil over the next three days. I think the worst part of it was that I was really groggy from the anaesthesia for the next two days. I slept a lot.
You will probably have all kinds of reactions. I think my worst reaction was right when I found out -- because of scheduling I had to wait almost a full week for the D&C. I was devastated then, then I was somewhat calm a few days before the procedure, I lost it on my way into the OR, and then when it was over, it was over for me. I had had so few symptoms before and almost no aftereffects, that my brain started to treat the entire pregnancy as a big joke on me. I actually had to dig out the materials the hospital gave me at one point to confirm to myself that anything had happened. I stayed off these boards for a few weeks, too. But almost any reaction is normal.
I miscarried as well - no idea at all something was wrong - no bleeding - no cramps - nothing. I went in for my u/s and there was no heartbeat. I had a D&C about a week later. I did bleed quite heavy for a couple days and then bled for about 2 weeks. I did get AF about 38 days after the D&C.

Heather sweetie, I am so sorry. I can relate though 100%. I just had the same thing happen to me today, and its so hard to grasp the situation. I still have symptoms and thats whats the hardest thing to deal with. I am also getting a D&C next week so they can test it. There is a little bleeding after a D&C, and also some cramping, but it only lasts a few days, you should be ok after at least 2 days physically. I am so sorry. If you need to talk about anything, Im hear to listen.
