Our homestudy is complete, we're just waiting for a match
Our social worker was out yesterday and APPROVED our house for up to a sibling group of 3 children. She said she'd hurry and finish the paperwork on her end so that we can officially be on the registry of waiting families. When DH asked a time frame of when our children may be home she said, "any where from 1 week to 1 year." They try really hard to get the children placed in homes before the start of the new school year, she asked if that was too fast to move and we told her, "when we see the kids, we will just know, if it feels right than lets' go for it, if it doesn't we will wait for another match".
DH is so excited, I don't think either he nor I slept a wink last night, just knowing our kid/ or kids are out there waiting for us to bring them home and be a family is so exciting and kind of scarey at the same time. I don't think I'm going to sleep very well until we get our match. I looked at the website today and saw a sibling group of 3 boys, and thought, yeah- I could be their mom. Just wait and see who we are matched with. I have emailed our social worker with the boys names and id numbers asking for more information.
Just wanted to let everyone know. I am so excited, it is really hard to concentrate on working.
Mary

dna,
That is way too funny about knitting sweaters, I did NOT inherit the knitting gene from my grandma so I am out of luck on that one. As for hobbies, who has time for them, I'm on the computer checking out the websites on waiting children, just wondering if my kid/kids are on there somewhere.

Thats pretty much ALL I did while I was waiting... I made blankets and hats .. but then none of them fit and I *still* had to go to my gram for a train sweater !
LOL ! I am praying (right along side you !) that you will have your family together in no time !
Its so exciting to see families come together thru different means of adoption... we are hoping to sign up for domestic in the fall !
Take good care,
Amy
