Just be yourselves, and stay calm! I was terrified (despite all the wonderful advice from you ladies!) and almost made myself sick before the social worker even got to our house. In the end, it was no big deal at all!

Congratuations! You are going to be one step closer to being a Mommy!
Take a deep breath, relax, try to enjoy the visit (remember, the social worker wants to aprove you as much as you want to be aproved) then go out to dinner at your favorite restaraunt afterwards!
We had the house "normal" company is coming cleaner than ususal. And I had a plate of Peppridge Farm cookies with regular or diet soda available for her. Other than that I didn't do anything special but have the documents she needed ready.
And I absolutely echo Calantha and Melissa...Be yourself ! Don't overclean, our SW sat on the couch, and looked around (she just asked us if we had room upstairs for the baby)..Paperwork is always nice to have ready if she will need any, its alot of work for them and anything you can do to make it easier is always appreciated...
And most important, she will know you will be nervous and chances are she will try and make you feel comfy as well...
Be yourselves !! By the time it is over you will wonder why you ever worried !
Good Luck
Amy

We had our house clean, but didn't have all the child locks installed, medicines and chemicals put away. She didn't even look at our house at the first visit. She sat at our kitchen island. We set out cheese and crackers and cookies which she happily munched on
The only eye-brow raising issue was that we had a pellet rifle (mine from when I was a kid) and that it needed to be in a locked place or get rid of it - I decided to give it to my Mom so my nephew's could use it when they come to visit her.
The second visit she went outside and measured out pool fence and checked that the gate was self locking.
Mostly she talked about adoption, why we wanted to adopt, what our relationships were like with parent's, siblings, and with each other. It was not that tough. She gave us lots of good advice about adoption and how special it is

Yahoo, our homestudy is done. She thinks that she should have the report done before the end of the month. We are so glad that she is working so hard to get it done so quickly.
One step closer!
P.S. You were all right, it really was so much easier than we thought it would be.
Thanks for all of your support cysters!
